You can buy a cleaning kit off the net which will in most cases unblock the jets.

Youi need to work out the cost of the kit over the age of the printer and the cost of a new one.

If the ink is good then this is a throw away printer. No one repairs these, a new one costs less than any part and labor cost.

i am not familar with your machine, i am assuming you have throw away heads and ink cartridges, if so try another one. i prefer the epson inkjet printers, they have a fixed head, and you can fit bigger ink tanks on them.

The ink is a lubricant for the print heads. Some color ink is used even if you only print in black or vice-versa. If you printed with a color missing, you could destroy that print head from the friction of running without ink to lubricate it. That's why most printers won't allow you to print with a color missing even if you aren't using it.

If you allow a color to go empty, the residual ink in the head could clog and become permanently blocked. You would never be able to print that color again. So always replace ink cartridges as soon as they are empty.

Leaving your printer on takes very little power. Every so often the printer sends a signal to cycle the ink in the heads so it doesn't clog. If you turn your printer off, the next time you turn it on it will do a cleaning which wastes a lot of ink. The excess ink is soaked up by the waste pad beneath the printer. When the waste pad is full, the printer stops working. Unless you want to spend more than the cost of the printer or waste a lot of time on a messy cleanup you will end up throwing the printer out. So shutting it off actually shortens its life.

If you leave the printer off for extended periods of time, the ink in the heads will clog and you will have to throw the printer away.

Here's how to clear blocked print heads, given you've run the cleaning of the print heads or nozzles from the printer at least 5 times:
-remove the cartridge(s) from the blocked head and drop alcohol where the ink enters the printer.
-reinsert the cartridges
-run one head cleaning
-wait about an hour then run some head cleanings.
-dip the print heads in Isopropyl Alcohol overnight, which you can buy from chemist

-if that still doesn't work, your heads may be clogged to the point where they need repair or replacement, which will probably cost more than a new printer.

Ink is a lubricant for the print heads. Some color ink is used even if you only print in black or viceversa. If you leave the printer off for extended periods of time, the ink in the heads will clog and you will have to throw the printer away. Someone I know with a Canon (though this can happen with any inkjet) had to have the heads replaced twice within the first few months before the Canon tech told her to stop turning it off. Since then it has worked perfectly for over a year.

How to clear blocked print heads:
-leave the printer on for a day
-run several head cleanings and print the nozzle check pattern
-if that doesn't fix it, remove the cartridge(s) from the blocked head and drop alcohol where the ink enters the printer.

Epson PictureMate - can't clean all nozzles & Error P

Many times head cleaning will throw much ink away. 1 time about 10% of ink. After meny times head cleaning, ink will out, and need replacement. May be after head cleaning nozzle is ok, but after replacement, printer do ink charge. It may be distrub the flow of ink at head. Is the cartridge new?. Use CISS for continuity printing.

Your printhead has dried out and has probably failed. The ink is the lubricant and the cartridge seals it from the outside air. By leaving it with no cartridge you have probably ruined the black printhead. Use the cartridge you bought for cleaning but, if it doesn't come right after 10 cleans you may as well throw it away.

Epson C82 & C84 Printers will not laydown any ink!

Sorry but It uses Durabrite ink which tends to turn into hard gel if not printed at least once a week. Its less painful and expensive to just throw the printer out and buy a new one. I recommend the canon PIXMA ip3500. It lets you remove the printhead for cleaning unlike the Epson. If you want to try your luck at unclogging the printer heres a link to a unclogging kit but be warned that results are not guaranteed!

The C82 in addition to clogging also has a problem where the waste ink hose which is supposed to remove excess ink (so the printer dosent get clogged) gets disconnected and so the printer clogs even more. The C84 had this glitch fixed but alot of good that did!

Thanks for reading!

Cleaning or replacing printhead / hose

Buy them at a official EPSON service center or throw away the printer and buy a HP.
Actual EPSON printers uses 5 ml ink cartridges for each color and black. HP printers has the same volume cartridges but there are only 2, tricolor and black.
If a HP printing head becomes clogged (don't worry, it almost never happens), just throw away the cartridge and install another (the print head comes with the ink cartridge). If a EPSON print head becomes clogged you have no other choice than buying another printer because EPSON's print heads are expensive and become discontinued 12 months after the printer model was launched to the market.

Also, HP Printers are cheaper than those from EPSON and offers excellent print quality on any paper. Compare a 10 years old HP printer with actual EPSON's and the HP has the sharpest black printing. The color is another story.
