The playstation 3 does not work with certain games saying there is an error on the router (error code: 80710723) How can we open more ports on the router? Thanks for your help

Generally what happens is that progress will stall whilst you are trying to update the firmware or software/games on your PS3, causing it to be corrupted. Your console is then unable to function properly, and you are left trying to "pick up the pieces" as it were. The PS3 error 80710723 is one of these system update errors, and is often experienced by gamers who use wireless connections to update their firmware or games.

So how can you fix PS3 system update error? Here are a few steps you can take to try and fix the 80710723 error code yourself.

  1. In your System Options/Network Settings you need to go and disable a setting called "media server". Doing this has been reported to fix the PS3 system update error in a number of different cases.
  2. If you are using a wireless network connection then switch to a wired connection and attempt to update your console. Wireless connections can have interference, or fail from time to time. Therefore it is better to use a wired Internet connection where possible.
  3. As a last ditch resort you can actually download the update from the Sony website onto your PC, then load that update onto a USB stick and plug it into your PS3 and carry out the update process from there. However, it is best to actually try and fix your connection problems first.

What does it mean when the orange light on the ps3 flashes?

f there is an orange light on your PS3 then there are a few basic steps you need to take that stand a good chance at being able to fix your console. Firstly, check that all the cables and leads are correctly attached to your PS3. Sometimes a cable or lead may have become slightly unseated if you moved your PS3 or somebody/something bumped into it. Remove every lead and cable and then re-attach them, one by one.Next, power down your PS3 and leave it switched off for at least 30 minutes. From time to time the Playstation 3 orange light error can be caused by overheating, so by turning it off and leaving it you will give your console a chance to cool down. However, it is important to note that this is only a temporary fix to your problem, and the orange light error on your PS3 will come back. Finally, ensure that your PS3's network connection is working properly. If you connect your console to the Internet via a wireless connection then this connection can sometimes be interrupted, thus causing problems with your console. Turn off your Internet modem/router and then reboot it. Also, try using a wired Internet connection to your PS3, if this is possible.By following the above steps you may be able to fix the PS3 orange light error.

What is a dns error and how do i fix it

DNS error occurs when your internet connection is fluctuating and your PS3 console was unable to detect an active internet connection. This is not a problem with the PS3 System as it much more of your ISP or internet service provider which is disconnecting.

Error when connecting to the internet: error (80130804).

This means that your PS3 is not able to get an IP address from your wireless network/router. I would suggest set the IP address manually on your PS3 including the DNS IP address.

Wot error is 80710723????

You have a network/router error. First go to settings, then Network settings, then internet connection settings. If you have a wired connection connection 1 - Custom, then manual settings, then auto detect, then automatic, then Do not set, then manual, DNS1 : 208.67.222.222 , DNS2 : 208.67.220.220, then auto, then do not use, then enable.
If you are using a wireless connection 2 - WIRELESS > ENTER MANUALLY > ( ENTER SSID OR CONTINUE ) > ( CHOOSE SECURITY OR CONTINUE ) > CUSTOM > AUTO > DO NOT SET > MANUAL ( DNS1 : 208.67.222.222 , DNS2 : 208.67.220.220 ) > AUTO > DO NOT USE > ENABLE > X > X
and if neither of these works then try turning off your modem for a few minutes and restarting your ps3 =)

Ps3 error 80010201

this error means that a cable is unplugged or some thing like that: last night, my ps3 got a YLOD and because of that i had to open my ps3 and fix it(using gilksy method(it really works!)), after i reassembled my ps3, I got a 80010201 error and realized that my ps3 doesn't recognize controllers at all(even after i connected them to ps3 using USB cable). anyway, i reopened my ps3 and check all the vires and connections and reasembled my ps3 again, the problem was solved. so if you got the same problem, just open the thing and check all connections and unplug and reinsert all the ribbons. it should fix 80010201 problem.
