Question about Marantz SR8500 Receiver
Your Digital Signal Processor is probably shot.
Unplug the unit, then replug it and do a processor reset (in the onscreen menu) and see if that helps.
Try using an analog signal and see if it plays that alright. I hope that this unit was not a refurbished as alot of them have had DSP problems and it can be a costly repair.
Let me know how this works,

That is a Common Message on this Model. The only User Fixable Option is to Try and Reset it.which is activated by simultaneously pressing the Speakers A/B button and the button on the front panel while the power is on. Just keep them pressed until it finishes cycling through the reset and returns to normal.
Let me know, if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
