Perhaps you are trying to cut off too much material, rather than having the material on the edge, so the blade just neatens it up. Also, the blade may be blunt

Can I stop my semco 750 overlocker cutting the material when I'm sewing

You should be able to disengage the cutting blade. Probably a button that you push in then rotate anti clockwise, this will turn the blade down under the machine therefore not cutting the fabric.
Good luck

Overlocker Bernette

If this is new it will still be under guarantee so have it checked out. It sounds like a badly aligned or blunt upper blade.
Overlockers will sometimes struggle with thick fabrics and putting something to help keep the foot level to " jump the bump" will often help, discuss that with the sleasperson too.

Adjusting tension on overlocker

overlockers and sergers are annoying in that every time you change materials and threads they must be re-tensioned.

Get a scrap piece of material. Thread your machine correctly according to the instructions in your manual. If no manual most sergers are threaded, upper looper, lower looper then needles from right to left. Make sure you thread with the presser foot UP.

You want to balance the stitches Begin by adjusting the looper dials, you want them to meet right at the cut edge. Then adjust your needles. Keep doing test seams until you have them balanced. If you are a novice... try threading with each thread point having it's own color. That will help you identify which thread is giving you fits.

Have fun.

Threading a Wilcox and Gibbs 63030

I believe your "63030" number is a serial number and not a model number...I could be mistaken. But boy that's an old one! Here is A threading guide... It was buried deep. ;) Hope it helps.

Hi! everyone, i wonder if someone can help me out with my overlock willcox & gibbs 515-e32-451. it won`t cut the fabrics, maybe the blades are in a wrong position, so i need to know how to adjust them...

if it can cut even though it seems to be able to reach the blade may be dull, or they may have been put into a rest position, look for a lever when you open up the machine. I'll bet if you look at you tube you find people showing how to do a rolled hem, and for that you have to disengage the blade so you'll be able to see how it gets moved

Whats the differance between a overlocker and a sewing machine? I am new to sewing and want to know with to purchases, iv no idea where to start or what to buy?

A overlock machine helps you clean finish the seams. You can do many things with a overlock It can cut your sewing time down. The sewing machine is good for many thing too,Mostly the construction of the garment. I have three machines. A indstrialstraight stitch, a home machine and a overlock.Al for different tasks.
