Games always need RAM and Graphics cards to keep the frames from stuttering.Your Acer
Manufacturer: Acer Product MPN MPN Aspire 5315-2153 Key Features Processor i have a problem with fps. - dtrquestion.gif Celeron M 1.73 GHz Hard Drive dtrquestion.gif 80 GB Serial ATA Display 15.4 in. WXGA+ TFT Active Matrix Processor Processor Type dtrquestion.gif Celeron M Processor Speed dtrquestion.gif 1.73 GHz Memory Installed RAM 1 GB
is low on both.Win XP x32 likes 3GB of RAM and Vista wants even more. The Frames Per Second is purely a Graphics Processor Hog.

Your graphics card "is" built in and cannot be upgraded. The latest drivers "from Intel" is your only option for an upgrade. To be less graphics intense decrease your screen resolution by right clicking your "desktop" and clicking "properties" then "settings".Move the pointer left one click "screen resolution".The screen will jump around a bit while it's resetting, hit "apply" and "ok".The resolution will now be less but your game will speed up-some-ultimately this laptop is not built for fast paced games.Sorry bout the news, take care!

Laptop suddenly shut down without notice when playing games

This is likely a "thermal shutdown" caused by fluff blocking the tiny cooling fins behind the fan.
Reason it does it when you are playing games is likely because that is when the CPU and graphics chip are working at their hardest.
Sometimes you can see / get at the fins and check / clear the cooling fins.
Try blowing down the place where the air is supposed to come out.
This will do 2 things - A = If when you blow HARD you can hear the fan spinning up, then it is not blocked - B = It sometimes clears the blockage.
Many times it is a BIG job to strip the casings off the laptop to get at the cooling fins to clear them, plus you need a very methodical approach to avoid damaging things.

My HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook drops its FPS drastically when hot

Hello,if this is the first time that happens its OK but if every time you play or you stressed the CPU shutdowns or restarts the you should take it to a repair shop. You can download a program to monitor the temperatures to see if its a CPU or graphic cards overheating. As i can see your graphic card is low-mid range and on-board so don't stress it, putting high resolutions or high details and make it overheating and stress more your CPU.

dude. even if it's an issue that your warrenty can handle it's probably the card. chances are your overusing it and it's just gone bad. if you can live off of that card just go pick up an 8400gt or 8600gt. you'll see a dramatic inprovement
