Question about Dell Latitude D610 Notebook

1 Answer

I have a dell latitude D610 and am having problems connecting to the internet via my netgear router. I have had this problem in the past and the solution was a series of keys (fn,f2) but am not sure of the sequence. Can you advise?

Maybe this is what you had done? I found this post -

"Quote" Most Dell laptops have three places you can turn the wireless on and off

The first is in the cmos setup - Hit F2 at startup and go through the pages until you find the one that allows for wireless control and make sure the wireless is enabled.

The second is through a keyboard "hot key" combination - usually FN+F2 - you'll need to look at your keyboard to verify this. "End Quote"

I found it on this site - http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=3056

I think you are asking how to log into your Netgear router? If so, the default user name is "admin" and password is "password". Please ensure that this is changed immediately, as this is widely known information and anyone can get into your router and change your settings if you don't secure it otherwise. I would be more than able to help you further as needed. Please reply with specific Netgear router model as you need further assistance.

Good Luck,

Jesse

the problem is not the battery; what has happened is the coolant paste that pulls the heat away from the cpu (main) chip to the fan has dried up. you must remove the fan/heat exchanger off the motherboard and, put new paste on the chips that the heat exchanger sits on
radio shack sells the paste

have a look at the book that came with the wireless router and see what is the ip address. it should be 198.162.1.254. type this into your home pc internet explorer address bar. you should get the router settings page. then go to the wireless setup page and you will find the wep key there
