Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. This is often caused by failed convergence ICs. I don’t think the issue is with the power supply of the unit as the sound is coming fine from the unit. Also please check that the lamp is fine. Resistors will change value and burn. This will cause other components to become defective. Replacing one defective part may make the TV operate for a short time but the part will fail again since if the parts that caused the failure to begin with are not replaced. The typical cost to get this fixed by a pro is about $300-350. The parts are less than $100 (about $20-$30 for the IC's) if you want to do it yourself. Also the convergence board should be checked for cracked solders. If one IC is shot the other one is not far away and for that little price of the chips it worth changing them both at the same time. If you replace the ICs and the resistors are shot, the ICs may blow again almost immediately, meaning you may have to do the repair twice. Although it is worth to get it replaced but you may choose to buy a new set. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Hello, Thanks for your help. So the y sustain board is not the issue? Why does the menu work, and the set up images display but no picture. It worked fine until some bad lightening came through. Would this be a cause for the problem. Do you have any suggestion where to get the parts, and do I just need model and serial number to order them. Thanks again, B. Noble. I also noticed that the three projectors are on, there is a white screen while using inputs. Like for VCR. Thanks again

As it is a Projection TV there is no ‘Y’ Sustain board. However,
you can order parts online from the link---

    Parts for Projection
    TV

If you are not able to locate the parts for the brand and
model no. of your projection TV then please let me know. Please do accept the
solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further
    assistance.

    Thanks

Hello,

The y sustain board is the most common reason for no picture but sound okay .

More than likely this will be down to your Y Sustain board has gone faulty, when the back is off your TV it is on the left hand side and will probably have a fuse that has blown, replacing the fuse will not solve the problem as it is the IMP under the heatsink that has gone faulty.
You should get the part number of the board at Ebay.com for a replacement.
Hope this helps...

I see only one fuse, this is by the power in. Would a lightening storm be a cause of this problem, and is this something that I can fix on my own? Thank you for your help.

I have a memorex. I am getting sound but no picture. When powered on, the memorex sign shows up but then no picture just sound. Also makes a slight screeching sound for approx 10 sec. when powered on.

I guess the blanket draped over the TV is intended to give it a "timeout". Anyway, you will likely conclude eventually that the internal power supply has failed.
