Question about GE Televison & Video
Thanks for using FixYa. This is often caused by failed convergence ICs. I don’t think the issue is with the power supply of the unit as the sound is coming fine from the unit. Also please check that the lamp is fine. Resistors will change value and burn. This will cause other components to become defective. Replacing one defective part may make the TV operate for a short time but the part will fail again since if the parts that caused the failure to begin with are not replaced. The typical cost to get this fixed by a pro is about $300-350. The parts are less than $100 (about $20-$30 for the IC's) if you want to do it yourself. Also the convergence board should be checked for cracked solders. If one IC is shot the other one is not far away and for that little price of the chips it worth changing them both at the same time. If you replace the ICs and the resistors are shot, the ICs may blow again almost immediately, meaning you may have to do the repair twice. Although it is worth to get it replaced but you may choose to buy a new set. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

The y sustain board is the most common reason for no picture but sound okay .
More than likely this will be down to your Y Sustain board has gone faulty, when the back is off your TV it is on the left hand side and will probably have a fuse that has blown, replacing the fuse will not solve the problem as it is the IMP under the heatsink that has gone faulty.
You should get the part number of the board at Ebay.com for a replacement.
Hope this helps...
