Can't connect to the ea server fpr madden 07 on ps3
Just hooked up to DSL(VERIZON) for the first time ever and was so eager to play Madden(07 - ps3) online I was flippin. I got signed up/signed in and ready to play only to get a message I needed to download a update while trying to connect to the ea server. When I click OK to do the download it says the connection has been lost - what gives? Are you guys still having issues with getting on the ea server?
Oh yea, I am hooked up directly from the DSL modem - was able to download the demo for MLB 08 The Show last night but unable to play Madden 07 online - HELP!!!

I experienced the same problem. I have the ps2 slim. The problem was so bad that i had the slim for about 3 years and still could not play any ea games online. About 2 months ago i finally got it to work though, allowing me to play madden ncaa and many other sports games from ea. I also have dsl broadband just like you. I do not have a router though. I just hooked my ethernet cord straight into the back on the ps2, my computer is really close by. I would reccomend a router though.
Enough of this bs though. Now solving the problem. There was actually a firewall keeping me from connecting to ea servers. Which in turn meant no ea account and no ea play online. Go onto your computer and turn your FIREWALLS OFF. This still may not work though. I done this and an unknown firewall was still blocking it. THERE WAS A FIREWALL IN MY MODEM.
CALL UP YOUR INTERNET SERVICE PEOPLE AND TELL THEM TO TAKE THE ******* THING OFF SO U CAN ******* PLAY. I ALSO FOUND THAT LIMEWIRE WOULD NOW WORK ON MY COMPUTER AS WELL.
By doing this you will open peer to peer connections with other programs and players online.
I had the same problem where I'm logged into XBox Live and I couldn't get into the EA servers to play any EA games. This is what worked for me:
1. Hit the XBox button and Log out of XBox live. 2. Go to the Settings tab and select System Settings. 3. Choose Console Settings then Clock. 4. Choose Daylight Savings and set this to OFF and back out. 5. Log back into XBox Live and the time will be set automatically. 6. Start you EA Game and Have Fun!!!
