Try to do anti clock turn slowly and remember only 1 crack sound. then on off your cam. its risky. If your not feeling well then batter submit it in service center. Thx

The zoom lens is stuck in the out psition and won't retract!

Risky method!
Switch off, replace fully charged batteries, grab the inner-most tube (smallest) of the lens assembly and gently pull outward. Keep your grip and power on the camera. There should be some vibrations from the motor. Let go your grip and see if the lens retracts to its housing.
If that fails, take it in for a repair.

Lens stuck in outward position.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them.
And here's a video summary of the steps:

Lens is stuck

Hi,
This happens when the camera is in the ON state and the battery power drains out completely. Please recharge the batteries or insert charged batteries and the lens would get closed automatically.
Please let me know if that works.

Thanks and Regards,
Srinivas

My lens is stuck what do i do?

First put in new batteries, switch the camera on and GENTLY try pulling the lens if any of it is showing outwards, then switch the camera off. If none of the lensis accessible, try holding the camera with the lens pointing down and GENTLY tap the camera body to see if there is and dirt os dust ingress. It's worth doing this over some white paper to see if anything fallsaout

Broken Zoom on Fuji Finepix F470

Try turning the power on and gently pulling the lens outward as it powers up. This may force the gears to re-align themselves. Use "fingertip" pressure only. Don't force it excessively. Also try turning on, and then applying slight pressure to the front of the lens while you power it off. You can also try rotating the lens barrel segments while it powers up or shuts off. Sometimes either can get the lens back on track.

Dimage Z1 lens stuck

With the camera turned on and the lens extended gently bend the lens outward in three places and the lens assembly will come off. This allows access to the zoom assembly which is probably the part that is rattling as it slides the back lens along its shaft. You may want to let a professional do this for you. After you find the problem reverse the procedure to reattach it.
