Re: tub moves all over during spin cycle. There is no unusual noise ie: bad bearing accompanying the movement of the tub.

We had an old machine that did that and the place I bought it from said that there was really nothing we could do to stop it. I pulled it out and put a 1x2 board with a couple of screws to the floor and did the same all around it. Outside of 8 little screw holes in the floor it stopped the problem. The machine worked for ten years after that and when we got a new one I replaced the floor covering.

Shakes like crazy spin

Your maytag washer tub and basket assembly sits on a base counter balanced by 6 springs. Is is possible to move the tub around by hand. The best test is to start a spin with the unit empty of cloths, allow the tub to reach speed for a few seconds, lift the lid and check the tub position after it stops, if the tub is off center with the lid opening, re center the tub and run spin again. If your tub returns to an off center stopped position you most likely will need the base kit replaced. The base kit replaces the entire bottom of the unit along with new springs, and snubber, if so packaged per your application. Maytag experienced a defective stamping dye when these bases were stamped, thus they were stamped crooked. This test is performed with the machine it's self relatively level on the floor. If the tub assy leans and favors any one direction while you are trying to center it with the lid open, you may have a rusted or broken counter spring in side the unit. Pleazer Appliance...

Machine moves around drasticly

Tub has springs and shock absorbers attached. Sounds like a spring attach point may be broken. Possibly the spring but lot less likely. Best get someone who knows how to fixit. Will need to open up, maybe cut some strip s of metal to attach (sheet metal screws) over the broken part, drill new holes... etc.

My Washer Baskets is leaning to one side when washing and spinning

Hello penpoint1959 - The tub is stabilized in the center with multiple springs which attach to the base of the washing machine and the frame of the tub. If one of the spring(s) is loose or broken, this may result in the tub being off center. Other possibilities are, the unit is not level and the load of clothing is not balance evenly in the tub. I personally first verify that the unit is level and the unit is being loaded evenly. If correct, and if I was in your position I would contacting a certified technician to move forward accurately and to assist with the repairs.

We have a Gallery stack washer and dryer. It is about 15 years old and in the last 6 months on the beginning and end of the spin cycles the washer vibrates and jumps. It seems a lot more than an imbalanced...

You either got bad bearings or suspension struts are broken. One test you can do is try to move the inner stainless tub up and down if you can do this you will need back tub assy. and inner tub possibly.

Admiral Washer makes loud steady noise during spin cycle but washes clothes & completes cycle. Possible bearing problem?

If a front loader type, try lifting up on the drum. If it clunks and seems to move somewhat easily, it is probably the front bearing on drum rear support shaft--a major tear-down to replace. If a top loader, try tipping the basket (that spins) in several directions--if it makes clunking sounds, try removing the agitator and check the tub mounting bolts at the bottom center for tightness. If ok, tip the tub again and watch for movement. It may have a bad bearing below the tub at the center area. Remove the tub bolts and pull the tub out revealing the drive hub underneath. Don't know if you would have to drop the transmission to repair what you find. Good luck!

Washer Tub appears top be off center after move upstairs. How do I remove cover to check? kenmore washer model # 100.24812200

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

IF THIS IS A BRAND NEW INSTALLATION - be sure you hav removed the basket shipping pins (4) that secure the tub during shipping.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

Tub is out of balance and leaking water. Seems like what holds the tub in place is broken. When the tub is off center and filling with water it misses the tub. I can move the tub when it's empty alot more...

Open the top and observe the motion dampers in several corners--shake the tub, it should return to center by itself. Some are a small shock-absorber looking devices, others are spring balanced with flat plates rubbing together for damping. Sometimes the plates can climb on top of each other--push the tub to the side to bring the plates together properly. If you need any parts, go to: SearsPartsDirect.com They have drawings showing the relationship of parts as well as the part numbers for ordering.

Two speed auto washer - found water all over floor - no leaks on any hoses or drain. Wife said last load was unbalanced and machine was rocking around bad. Tub seems very wobbly to me when I move it...

having a very unbalanced load can cause the water to go over . yes the tubs are supposed to be able to move around some.run a load with no clothes in it if it leaks then you may have a more serious problem
