If it is a drop down door, then the hinges are not repairable, the only solution is to replace both door hinges, and not just the broken one.
Hope this helps.

Door will not close completly

When you say "oven door will not close properly", do you mean that it closes but not tightly against the rubber seal on the oven cavity?

Or is it some other closing problem?

If it is the former, then it is a sign of the door hinge springs wearing out. The solution to this is to replace both hinges on the offending door.

Hi, We have a Westinghouse electric wall oven with a door which appears to have a broken spring inside. We have previously been able to set it back in gap for hinge but now it has given up holding...

You should be able to buy new springs or the hinge complete from most appliance parts outlets. On some Westinghouse, the door will slide straight off the hinges but on others, you have to strip the door to get at them. Try opening the door and see if the door slides up and away from the oven. If it does, its pretty easy to change the hinge, if not, there will be a little clip on each hinge which locks the arm in place. Slide the clip on both hinges to the front and then you can lift the door up and out of the oven. remove the screws holding the door together and then you will see the 2 screws which hold the hinges in. Order a left (or right) hand side whatever one you need, but I would suggest that they are replaced as a pair, otherwise the door may not close evenly.

The door will not close and maintain a tight seal, what needs to be replaced?

Hello,

these units have a door hinge issue, 99% of the time the hinges will fix the issue. Check the hinge receptacles the part the hinges lock into they often will go bad at the same time.

Order the hinges and replace them it will fix the problem. The link below is where we get our parts from.

Cheap Appliance parts

Good luck with your repair.

Oven takes forever to heat up - its a thermador double oven - me272

Hello- Check these things first-  Door seals tend to get stiff over time. This is normal. Door hinges can become loose or get bent a bit, causing door to not close tight. This little gap can allow heat to escape, causing extended pre-heat times and frequent cycling of elements. If door doesn't seem to pull shut tightly- hinges will need to be replaced. If oven appears to operate normally otherwise, this should solve problem.  Let me know if the info helps- have more if needed- Thanks  - Ed

Omega oven model number is OO910XA

If it is a common problem with Omega, they may not be ready to admit it. Since it occured 2 times, possibly the hinges use nylon rollers for smooth and quiet operation, but the hinges are not well shielded from the hi heat of 500-600 degrees and the nylon parts fail after a few months constant heat exposure. There is a common problem that happens with oven doors when they do not seam to close tight: besides being old and normally worn, if a door is leaned on while it is open, the hinges could be stretched and then they will never allow the door to close tight. This has happened to many ovens regardless of age, and the customer never realized that the weight or pressure they applied to the door when in the open position has done damage; yet they wunder why the door does not close well. Door does not seal, hinge looks fractured. the door looks like it has dropped and does not seal at the top, also when lowing the door there is no resistance and it wants to just flop down. Both hinges look...

you'll probably need to replace the whole door and hinges. the internal springs (inside the door) may have failed and allowed the door to drop and damage the hinges. don't believe it's fixable, but is replaceable.
at what cost, i can't guess- even if the parts are still available! compare the cost of fixing to the cost of replacing!
good luck!

Re Neff B1451 oven door not sealing against oven body at top

If you take the hinges off, you can fit some washers between the hinges and the door to make it close it further. Probably not as good as new hinges, but cheaper. 2mm of washers will close a 5mm gap
