Question about Acer Aspire One PC Notebook

1 Answer

Sometimes when restarting in get into a loop where it's shows very quickly the "blue"screen typical of a system crash (too fast to be able to read anything) and then start rebooting again. It does this for ever until you turn it off and forget about. Latter on, it works...

that's kinda bizarre... One suggestion if it starts the blue-screen reboot-loop hit the F8 key(repeatedly until a menu comes up) before the windows logo comes up, but after the first acer screen disappears. if a white-on-black menu does not show up then you started hitting F8 too late. When the menu shows up, there should be a selection option to do something like "disable reboot on error", "halt on error", or "disable automatic reboot". Select whatever option that is and then continue ahead and see what the error shows itself to be. I suppose, since you're probably running XP... it would be good to either install the Recovery Console, or hookup an external cd/dvd drive and boot from an XP cd and use the Recovery Console, accessible from the first few screens of the XP setup thing. From inside the recovery console, type the following, which are much safter than all the warnings claim... fixboot fixmbr chkdsk /p running those commands have cleared up more laptop BSOD situations than I'd care to remember. That should help, unless you actually have some hardware issue of sorts... Get back to me if there's any issues or results.

Yes well what you are describing is a classical "BSOD" Blue Screen Of Death... this occurs when the system loads a driver that has a conflict or problem running. If you look in the error logs you will be able to discover why. From this you should/may be able to remedy this. Generally though it is the Video Driver that is having the problem. Or something is unstable in the driver department, Often an upgrade here can be all that is needed. So ensure you have the Most up-to-date BIOS, and MotherBoard Drivers, Video Drivers, etc etc.

Blue screen of death on my HP Pavilion g7-1219wm notebook pc

A BSOD (blue screen of death) is a general failure warning and in itself is not serious unless it continues to happen. If that is the case, you will need to read and write down the message that appears to be able to get further help.

My pc wont boot up normally, it has a blue screen show up but then it goes away before i can read it

The blue screen of death BSOD is set to auto-restart after an error you can change the registry to prevent this not sure if you can do this in safe mode but its worth a try you will at least be able to see the error.

Its a good idea to use MemTest on a boot CD to check your RAM for errors first then restore from an old image.

Hello I have an acer aspire 5535 and it keeps

The complete solution to this fault (Acer 5535 keeps crashing under vista) is to use Windows XP instead of Vista. Set up a Dual Boot so you can CHOOSE to load XP or Vista each time you turn on the laptop. I've put XP on my 5535 and it's SO much faster and seems perfectly stable now - no crashing at all.

A full video showing how to do this is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdfU9TXIAd4

Once you've done this you won't have any problems with the laptop anymore.
This is a perfect solution to the crashing problem!

Won't boot - brief blue screen

Press F8 while booting but before it goes into SAFE mode select "Temporarily disable restart." Now you should be able to read the Blue Screen. If this doesn't work it's likely you have the GenericFX virus and you'll need to repair the operating system.

Ok. When it shows the screens, can you read the text or does it go away fast...
Close to the bottom you will see a number... See if you can give it to me...

Maybe it is a Memory Problem... According to the number you give me, i will let you know..
