Yes well what you are describing is a classical "BSOD" Blue Screen Of Death... this occurs when the system loads a driver that has a conflict or problem running. If you look in the error logs you will be able to discover why. From this you should/may be able to remedy this. Generally though it is the Video Driver that is having the problem. Or something is unstable in the driver department, Often an upgrade here can be all that is needed. So ensure you have the Most up-to-date BIOS, and MotherBoard Drivers, Video Drivers, etc etc.
