Question about GE Profile PSW26P Stainless Steel Side by Side Refrigerator
Hi, The clicking sound is most likely the compressor relay, external start relay clicking on and off trying to start the compressor. For some reason it is overloaded causing this problem. You can pull the unit out from the wall and you should have a panel at the bottom you can remove. There will be a small condenser fan motor, a coil, and the compressor. If you find that the motor is not running and the temperature control is set for the unit to be on, this motor is the problem. You should be able to put you're hand on top of the compressor and do this carefully as it will be HOT. If the motor is running and the compressor is hot and clicking on and off, it is locked up and is faulty. It would be cheaper to purchase a new box then replace a compressor. You can get an estimate, but I do this every day and it could run as much as $1,800.00 to do this. Please check the things I have asked of you and get back to me and let me know what you have found.
