Question about Brother LS-1217 Mechanical Sewing Machine
Tried every thing on inside is it the timing? and how to fix please
I have this same problem. The bargainBox solution may not be too helpful. This diagram is not similar to my model. I question the accuracy of the information. I also believe it is a timing issue but this drawing will not help. I am still trying to determine which adjustment will correct problem. Removing the plastic case is easy and involves 7 screws. This reveals a sturdy steel frame which is easy to get at any adjustment. Which adjustment? Good question but oil all you want this has not cured my problem.

Whether the machine is front or top loading, the relationship between the needle and the hook is the key to timing.
Take a look at this and see if you can adapt it to your machine, the theory is the same.....the relative position of the needle rising 2mm with the hook just so.......the method of disengaging the main horizintal shaft and hook gear may be slightly different to this, so see how you get on.
If you want any more help with this, just post back here, or, drop a line through the "Contact Us" page at www.bargainbox.com.au
