    Hello

Thanks for the information in regards to the hp f 2105 monitor black screen problem. I replaced the back light inverter board, the screen comes on but after about 5 mins of use the screen flickers like a strobe light and is makin me nuts! Could it be a defective inverter board? what is weird also is that when I adjust the brightness down the flickering is not as intense. Please help if anyone knows what the **** is wrong with these expensive hp monitors!

You need a new backlight inverter board.Mine was doing the same thing. Its an easy fix and costs $89.99 for a new upgraded part, that will last much longer and is built better. If you have any questions and are'nt sure, send them an e-mail first, detailing the problem as you've done here, before buying one

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!

If you are using a laptop, you might have pressed the button to switch from LCD to external display. The key combination depends on your laptop model, but it is usually Fn+F4 or some other function key. Look for a function key that also has an icon looking something like an external monitor. 48d40f3.jpg Try pressing function and that key a couple times to see what happens.

HP vs 19b LCD monitor power

You need to start by looking at the power supply section first for bad caps, the problem can also be in the inverter or bad lamps. does it do the same when it is hooked up to other PC?
see the one I just fixed with bad lamp problem: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/HP%20VS19D/

Power led on hp monitor flashing

mham2525, Did it have a "perfect" picture on it yesterday? You do know that if the COLD-CATHODE-FLUORESCENT-TUBES that are hung on the rear of the LCD PANEL fail to light, all you get is a BLACK screen to look at!!!!! OMG, What shall I do now???? It sure would be nice if all we needed to do was remove the cover and then screw-in 4 new CFL light bulbs into our monitors. YOUR UNIT WILL NEED TO BE TROUBLESHOOTED AND REPAIRED. MOST LIKELY A SMPS/INVERTER BOARD FAILURE. CALL HP TO SEE IF THEY HAVE A SWAPOUT PROGRAM. Bye for now. lmistyrel @aol.com

Power Light Blinking & Black Screen

A blinking blue light indiactes that your power-inverter board is not putting out what it should. It needs an overhaul which may be a simple as changing out the capacitors on the boards.
It could go beyong that to transistors or even a bad bulb.
It will have to be opened up to do that.
A picture may show visual signs of damage. If you can take one and email it to me , I'll take a look.
