The power light is blue, there are constantly black screen. If I press the VPN select button, I will get a scrren very shortly, and there is a message box showing there is no signal. But the screen is correct. According to HP's online help instructions, the signal processor should be repaired. But HP told me there is no repair for f2105. They give me a ticket number to help me to buy a new one.

Thanks for the information in regards to the hp f 2105 monitor black screen problem. I replaced the back light inverter board, the screen comes on but after about 5 mins of use the screen flickers like a strobe light and is makin me nuts! Could it be a defective inverter board? what is weird also is that when I adjust the brightness down the flickering is not as intense. Please help if anyone knows what the **** is wrong with these expensive hp monitors!

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!

I have a hp dv6000 , it boots up with a black screen what could it be?.

It is possible you inadvertently disabled your notebook screen. There is a feature that lets you alternate between the internal screen and an external monitor/projector. This is used in presentations and docking situations.

To check - try this, in the lower LH corner of the keyboard, find the "fn" key. It is sometimes blue in color. Now locate the F4 key. You should seen a symbol on it that looks like a large oval with vertical lines on each side. Press and hold the "fn" key. While holding it down, press and release the F4 key. If you had accidentally disable the scrren, this should restore it.

If that is not the case. wait for the system to fully boot up. Take the unit out of direct lighting, but not into a dark room. Look at the screen from a slight angle. If you can just make out images on the screen that resemble what your normal display looks like, then what has happened is the the fluorescent backlight that make the LCD visible has failed. This requires a rather extensive effort to repair.

Do you have back light when turning on the TV? if you do then just replace the main board should resolve the problem. if you do not have back light, you will need to replace the inverter board(s) depending on your model. The inverter board(s) is located on the left side of the TV facing back of TV. you may have two inverter boards depending on your model. the other is located on the right side of the TV. Both mount vertically.
