I also have the same problem, where the ice builds up and makes that funny noise with the fan. I've also tried defrosting it with a blowdryer only to have the same issue re-occur two weeks later.

I have had the frige evaporator icing problem since 2006 and have been unable to get it resolved. Removing about 10 screws in the frige to remove a panel covering the evaporator and using a hair dryer to melt the ice on the evaporator coils seems to be what you have to do when the frige temp indicator begins to blink. Many technicians have come out and not solved the situation. Now they don't service Samsung anymore because of the lack of support from Samsung.

How does Samsung get away with designing such a poor refrigerator. Mine is the RS267LASH but a lot of other models exhibit the same problems over and over again.

Samsung side by side model # RS2545SH: Evaporator iced up, defrost sensor not working, causes refrigerator side to operate @ around 56 degrees Fahrenheit. Problem fixed by local repair company for $156 + freon disposal, total $198.00. 2 months later, same problem has recurred.
Also, the ice maker has never worked properly and it makes a periodic, strange loud cracking noise at night which wakes us up sometimes. Has anyone initiated a class action lawsuit against Samsung yet. From what I've read on-line, some attorney should be extremely happy to take this case. Good luck to all our fellow Samsung refrigerator owners out there. Oh, and their customer service is really terrible.

Samsung RM255LABP/XAA freezer only gets to 27 degrees, won't harvest ice. Fridge and lower freezer work fine.

Ice cannot be produced at that temperature you're going to have to find out by taking the drawer out removal of the rear wall of the freezer and see if the evaporator is freezing over or is the condensate drain opening is blocked. Your model has dual evaporators and we need to see if your evaporator in the freezer is defrosting properly or if for some reason the defrost drain is blocked causing moisture to cover the fan causing a cooling problem.

I had ice over my fan in the fridge side i have a Samsung French door fridge the fan had ice all over it now it is not working

Defrost the ice with a hair dryer and clean the drain below the evaporator, then try it. Samsung dual evaporator models are well known for this flaw. Like my help? What is the model number of the fridge?

Samsung model#rs2577bb freezerworking good refridgerator not maintaining temperature

Not really a permanent solution for Samsung refrigerators with a evaporator inside the fresh food section. You will need to remove the shroud housing the evaporator and clean out the drain opening along with removal of any ice buildup. User Manual HERE
Here is a link to a troubleshooting page that covers your model=> HERE You need to clean and make sure the sensors at base of evaporator are clean and function properly. Also insure condensate drain below evaporator remain clear of blockages ice/gunk. Parts breakdown can be found HERE. I am here should you need me, Thanks John Tripp Appliance 911

Water inside refrigerator

Because your model has an evaporator located inside the fresh food compartment it also will have a drain opening below that evaporator. This is a common problem with these dual evaporator models that have drain blockage caused by ice or gunk blocking the drain and causing water to flow below the crisper drawers. Sea Breeze

Samsung "Cool-n-cool" fridge freezer defrosting food

Is it "defrosting" the food or unable to keep it frozen? Probably unable to keep frozen. Many possible problems. 1. Defrost element bad and evaporator coil is iced over, or 2. Failed evaporator fan inside freezer, or 3. Low freon causing iced up evaporator coil....Do you see any ice build up on the back wall of freezer? Do you hear the freezer fan running or not? Take a look and get back to me.

I have a samsung RS2555SL the fan does come on and the refrigator side is not cooling the freezer side is cooling.

It sounds like you have a iced up evap in the Fresh Food side so You need to clean all the ice near the top light and all from all the places.
Appart from this you should also get the thermistor checked and the frig fan. Doing this will fix the problem.

Top refrigerator section will not cool

Check the evaporator fan , freezer must have a fan to avoid ice formation, if evaporator does not work, thermic sensor jams up and freezer stop working. The fan is located behind the panel in the freezer.

Check the back of your freezer, If there is frost or ice, then the unit is not defrosting.
This is often caused by problems with evaporator system.
Sometimes you also need to check the defrost timer, located at the top of the FFC on the Top freezer.
Check also the defrost thermostat, which is on the evaporator inside the freezer.
If it isnt defrosting, change both.

This is good! This indicates a defrosting system failure which is a simple control problem. It also means that the sealed system (compressor, evaporator coil, and all associated tubing) is fine as wine in summertime. Defrost system problems are easy fixes that anyone with a pulse can do with maybe just a little help from their friends. The problem will either be the defrost timer (or Adaptive Defrost Control board, if so equipped), the defrost thermostat, or the defrost heater. To locate these parts in your fridge, check out these cool, interactive parts diagrams.
