My GE 25932 5.8 GHz Cordless did not come with an answering machine that I am aware of. I missed a call and now it says "NEW VOICE MAIL" the message will not go away. I checked my vonage account and I DO NOT have a new voice mail. As far as I can tell there was no reason for the message to show up and there is no way to delete the phantom voicemail and get my screen back to it's original state.
Also, if all else fails...is there a way to reset the entire system?
What you do is call your own phone number it will tell you to set up a voicemail account and make a 4 digit pin ....once that is made you can listen to the prompts to listen to your voicemail and erase the messege and the phone will get back to its normal self hope this helps

The 25932 isn't an answering machine. Please refer to the documentation for whatever answering machine or voicemail system you're using. If you have further questions, feel free to repost your question specifying the answering machine or voicemail system.
The 25932 isn't an answering machine. If you have a separate answering machine connected to your phone line, consult its documentation. If you subscribed to a voicemail system offered by your phone company, contact them for instructions.

You must have a recorded message on the answerer in order for the machine to record messages left by callers. I would bet that there are no messages there yet. It couldn't tell callers to leave a message if there is no message there. I know there is one standard one already there and the handsets often say NEW VOICE MAIL. If the round screen on the base unit has a number there, then you have a message and all you need do is push the play button.
Called GE. Here's what's happening (at least with my phone). I use
VONAGE as a carrier. VONAGE's package includes voicemail. I have my
VONAGE voicemail account set up to take any call that comes in if the
answering machine on my GE phone does not pick up -- for instance if
I'm on the phone and I do not "flash" over to the incoming call, that
caller will eventually be sent to my VONAGE voicemail where they can
leave a message. (Otherwise I would either take the call, or, if not
already in use, the GE phone/answering system would simpy take the
message.) This GE phone is commucating with my VONAGE account
and letting me know that I have a mesage in my VONAGE
account voicemail. All I have to do is either go online and delete the
messages (after listening to them of course) and refresh the page. Once
the messsages are deleted, the carrier lets my phone know the messages
are gone and the NEW VOICE MAIL prompt on the handset disappears. I
suppose I can do it by listening to the messages by calling in and deleting through the touch pad on the phone as well.
