Question about Panasonic Workio DP-2330 Printer

2 Answers

Networking a Panasonic DP-2330 Multifunction printer/copier.

First of all I don't have an installation CD-ROM. A small office has been using this device as a copier only. Unit was vastly under utilized and they needed more printing capacity for their small inhouse lan. So, I'm trying to add this unit (DP-2330) to their existing network. Network setup... DLINK 2310 router with a NETWORK EVERYWHERE NH1005-wm 5-port hub (for added ports) and a standard DSL modem to provide hi-speed net access to the connected PCs. I have tried downloading the printer drivers from panasonic.com and installing them, several times. At first I tried using a DLINK 1260 print server, but I don't think that the server is compatible with the Panasonic's USB connection. I have a direct CAT5 cable between the DP-2330's ethernet port and a port on the working networking equipment. Whenever I try to do an "Automatic Config Update" from the printer software control panel, I get an error saying that the PC can't communicate with the printer. The printer has never printed a "test page". I believe that the mac address of the printer needs to be installed in the router configuration (as all the other pc's are). Using DCHP on the router. Can't figure out how to find printer mac address... no documentation is available; or is that even a concern at this point? I hope you can follow this and give me some helpful advice. It would be most appreciated. Thanks.

    CAT5 cable works fine anywhere else on the network. Cable was also independently tested OK before adding it to the network. I have not been able to adminster the 10/100Tbase RX.

Boot sequence for emachine M6811

As SOON as you press the Power On button, start tapping on the DELete key.
Tap in 2 second intervals.

You may hear beeps. This is a Stuck Key Error Beep. (Or beeps)
Ignore the beeps.

You will now be in the BIOS Setup utility.

The BIOS program is made by Phoenix.
It is Version NSF03.P0
Release date - 07/28/2004

http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2170#specs

Scroll the page down a little, until you come to the bold heading -
EMachines Desktop Replacement Notebook Specs

Scroll down until you see the sub-heading - Detailed specs
Left-click on - Click here to See appendix for detailed specs
Now look under the bold heading - DMI, and [ BIOS ]

When you are in the BIOS Setup utility, you CANNOT use your mouse
anymore. You have to use your Keyboard.

At the top of the BIOS Setup utility you will see headings;
Main, Advanced, Security, Power, Boot, and Exit.

The BIOS Setup utility automatically opens to the Main screen.

Use the Right Arrow key, and stop on the - Boot - tab

What is listed is a Boot Order.
In the list of the Boot Order are Boot Devices.

What is at the TOP is the first boot device the laptop will boot from.

Should be;
1) CD-ROM Drive
2) Removable Devices
3) Hard Drive
4) Network

Having CD-ROM Drive at the top allows you to install a different Operating System, that the laptop did not have from the factory.

ALSO; Windows DOES NOT like to be written over, with a lesser operating system, or the SAME version of operating system.

Examples;
Trying to install Windows 98SE, on a Windows computer that has Windows XP on it.

Trying to install Windows XP, on a Windows computer that has Windows XP already on it.

Using CD-ROM Drive as the first boot device, will allow you to install what you wish.

[ Doesn't work for installing Windows XP over Windows Vista. There is a special procedure ]

I am loading up a new Dell computer with Windows 7 Pro, I have the upgrade for Office 2007 ( that I purchased) but only have upgrades since office 95. How can I load Office 2007 upgrade on this new...

Is the disk-drive from the old computer attached as a "slave" disk-drive on the new computer?
If so, then the "upgrade" utility should find the "qualifying" files, and allow the "upgrade" to proceed.

Is Office 95 listed as a "qualifying" product for the Office 2007 upgrade?
If so, then insert the CD-ROM for Office 95 when running the Office 2007 installer.
Or, insert the CD-ROM for the Office 2000/XP/2003 upgrade when requested.

I have a NEC VY16F/RF-R notebook. I want to install windows xp in my laptop but can't do it. Please give me a instruction to install xp in my laptop.

One can no longer purchase a legal copy of Windows XP from any computer-store -- XP can only be purchased as part of buying a complete computer system from an authorized "system-builder", i.e., any small owner/operator computer-store.

Once you have purchased the XP CD-ROM, insert it into the CD-ROM drive in the NEC computer. The CD should "auto-start" and offer to install Windows XP. If not, then reboot the NEC, and choose to boot from the CD-ROM device, rather than your 'C:' drive.

My dell inspiron 1521 cd rom player is not working

The driver needs to be reloaded. It may still be in the Dell Utilities Program, the Dell Drivers File, or it can be downloaded from Dell's website. Go to Control Panel/System/Hardware Manager and drop down to CD Rom Devices. Right click on your product and click on drivers/update driver. If your device isn't listed there go to install hardware in control panel. You might want to swap the CD rom unit with a known good one. On three occasions I've had the CD Drivers be OK, but the Windows drivers were corrupted. Had to reload the operating system completely to make it all work again.
