Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone
When I got to take a photo with the camera on my iPhone, it seems to take it and save it like normal. However, when I go to view my photos, they are blank. Example, if I "take" 4 photos, it'll show 4 boxes, where the photos should be, but they're white boxes. It only shows the outline of the box where the photo should be. If I click on one of these white boxes to view what should be my photo, the screen blacks out and goes back to the menu. I haven't had any problems at all with my phone, and I got it in June when it came out. This started happening out of nowhere... it was working fine, then I go to use it again... and this starts. Any ideas on what it could be? And if I go to restore my iPhone through itunes, will I lose all my information... like contacts, texts, etc.? Any info would be appreciated... thanks!

I was having the same problem and tried several solutions. The only one that worked was the simplest. Use a program such as WinSCP or CuteFTP to SSH into your phone (there are lots of guides on how to do this) Then navigate to /var/mobile/media/DCIM and delete the two folders that are there. THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR CAMERA PICTURES, so if you dont want to lose them back the up first. Then if you want you can add your backed up pictures back to the phone. Hope this helps some of you not have to do a full restore

Living with an iPhone I have came accross a few problems that all relate to the device not saving data input. The camera not saving pictures taken is one of those problems. Another is related to not being able to change email account details on iTunes and have that reflected on the iPhone.
There is a common solution that solves these issues quickly, for jailbroken iphones. Install BossPrefs from Cydia. Access that application then click on the "More" button located at the top right of the main screen. A list of functions will appear. Click on "Fix User Dir Permissions". This solves these types of problems every time.
Hope this helps.

Restore your phone to the latest firmware (1.1.3 as of this writing). Your data is stored on your system so you won't lose anything. If the restore does not fix your problem, you will need to take your phone in for work under warranty.

When unable to use the camera, with this message "There is not enough room to take additional pictures. Please delete some existing photos.", when you know there should be enough space on the iPhone. Try this: Connect iPhone to iTunes, Click Restore and follow the process. After the phone is re-listed in iTunes, answer the prompt to restore all your data. Worked for me.

When ever you are having problems and restore an iPhone you should always select "Treat as new" when connecting with iTunes and not "Restore Backup" as that can just put the original errors back onto the iPhone.
I have never heard of this problem in all of the over 500 iPhones I have unlocked and given support too.
But if I had to guess I'd say go with Solution #3.

My Camera would take the pictures, but when I went into 'Camera Roll' they weren't there. I used WinSCP to connect to my jailbroken v1.1.4 iPhone via openSSH. I then navigated to the directory mentioned in Soultion #1 by jch0075 [ /var/mobile/media/DCIM ], and set the permissions on it, and the two within it, to 777 for each (right-click in WinSCP and type '0777' in the 'Hex' box toward the bottom). I then Opened camera, took a picture, saved fine, still had all my previous pictures, didn't have to restore.

When switch on my camera a message pops out saying "There is not enough room to take additional pictures. Please delete some existing photos." when I say ok and go to the camera roll, there is isnts any picture existing, and I have around 6.30GB space left in my iphone.
Basically I just cant use my camera.
