How do i change the boot order in bios on a clientpro 385 running xp?

Each retail manufacturer sets the BIOS screens up a bit different with different headers, but I can give you a generic "what to look for". Judging from your question, I am guessing that you already know how to access the BIOS setup screen in your computer. There will be a header which may be titled, "boot", "Boot Setup", etc. Sometimes under the old American Megatrends BIOS screens the boot order is found under the Storage Drives section, with other BIOS screens it may be different. I will use a Phoenix BIOS for an example. In general, here is what you do:
1. Restart the Computer and enter the BIOS Setup Utility; this is done by tapping a key repeatedly, usually the DELETE key (but not always).
3. Locate and Navigate to the Boot Order Options in BIOS
4. Make Changes to the Boot Order
5. Save Changes to the BIOS Setup Utility
6. Confirm Boot Order Changes and Exit BIOS
7. Start the Computer With the New Boot Order

I will use an example (I hope this website allows multiple pictures to upload, but here I go):
The first screen will look something like this, with a general posting of your components:
63649b72-4cb6-43bc-a443-d617d897cc2d.jpg

Tap your right arrow key to move this hilight over to the "Boot" header in the top, blue header bar (as below):
40b9c75e-09c2-4cc7-a7d2-568a69854882.jpg

Now you have to figure out how this manufacturer set it up; usually guidelines are in the right column to help you, but the general rule is that you hilight the hard drive and (somehow) move it up to the top for the first boot device. Sometimes you hilight "Hard Drive", then press "Enter" and it gives you more options for moving it to 1st boot device. Other times you may be able to directly move it from this screen (above) by pressing a different key. Just work with it and eventually you will figure it out. If you still have the original manual that came with the computer they may (or may not) give detailed instructions.
When you finally get it configured, be sure to save it. This is usually done by pressing F10 key, it will ask you if you want to save settings, press Yes and you are done. If you need additional help, I hang out with a bunch of other techs at the (free) compute help forum, www.suggest-a-fix.com This website is not set up for easy back n' forth communication. Hope this helps you.

How do you set the answering machine or voice mail on this phone?

First make sure the answering machine is on; press the On/Off button to turn it on and off. To set a message to be heard by those calling in: press and hold Skip/Annc. Begin speaking when A shows in the message window. Speak from about 9 inches away from the phone. Messages must be more than 3 seconds and less than 3 minutes long.

Press Prog/Mem and then Skip/Annc to hear the current message. Press and hold Setup until you hear the current setting (Selected announcement is A or Announce Only). Use Skip/Repeat to change the setting. No one will be able to leave a message if Announce Only is on.

After you have held the Setup button, as above, press Setup additional times to set the number of rings before the machine answers and the remote access code among other features.

To set the date and time, press and hold Clock for 1 second. Use the Skip button to advance the current digit; the Repeat button will subtract one from the current value. Press Clock again to advance to the next value to change (day of week, hour, minute, second).

Press Play to hear new messages; press and hold Play to hear all messages. Press Repeat to repeat the current message. Press Repeat twice to hear the last message. Hold Repeat to slow the message playback.

Delete a message by pressing Remove during playback; press Remove twice to delete all messages (if there are no new messages). A blinking F indicates the memory is full and messages must be deleted.

I hope this helps.

Bluescreen s6000 cant startup. cant go to safe mode

Depends what the message is. Well

If you are getting a Blue screen repeatedly and you can't start up to windows in any custom setting ( from f8 start up menu ) one way to solve the problem is to Use the restore disc or windows installation cd or dvd to install windows into the computer or perform a repair installation if a windows already exists on the computer and the setup can find it.

how to perform a repair installation

this is for xp, but its similar on 2000 and on vista.

insert your Windows XP Setup CD, and restart your computer.

1.When the Press any key to boot from CD message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.

if not then the computer is not set to start up from a cd, you can either enter the setup / bios to change that setting OR right when you power up the computer look at the screen it will say what button to press in order to enter boot menu or bios, it will very likely be button F12 or similar, it should say on the screen when you power on.

if it doesn't, then you need to go into the bios and change the boot order so that the computer starts from the CD first.

after that you should be able to start from the cd and install the OS (Operating system, eg.Windows)

here's some info on how to work the bios: http://www.whitecanyon.com/how-to-change-boot-order.php

Repeat step 1 when you have changed the boot order.

2.Press ENTER when you see the message To setup Windows XP now, and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen.

3.Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console.

4.In the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement.

5.Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.

6.Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.

7.Ones windows is working you will need the drivers for your computer, they are at the makers website, for hp and compaq. www.hp.com for acer http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/downloads.html for all other brands go to google and write Brand drivers. Should get you to the right place. Dell is most likely www.dell.com and so on.

Cannot Connect With Router

Hi Roncora.

In order to use that router with a wireless setup, you have to set it to Bridge mode. It will actually act as a repeater for your incoming wireless connection. To set it up in bridge mode, check out your manual on your CD, or visit the Linksys website and download the manual for your unit.

Initial Set up image

I am having this same problem. It seemed to clear up on its own at first, but it has since returned. It seems to occur most often after the TV has been on for a couple of hours. I contacted Sony Tech cupport and they recommend having the set serviced. I haven't yet, since it seemed to "fix itself," but now that the issue has resurfaced I'm likely to take it in unless someone has a suggestion as to what is causing it, and how to resolve it.
