My washing machine hotpoint ultima wmd 940 is dead no power ,but the fuse in the plug is ok.

the mains lead normally goes to a connector block at the top of the machine then onto a mains filter both of these can fail ie burnt out connections ect check these out first remember to un-plug machine first

Plug on motor (Multi-plug) has a burnt out wire as it has different speeds and different supply wires for different speeds. Remove and check the plug (top comes off). Any burnt wire needs to be cut back to clean copper and refitted into plug.

Washer squealed, gave off black smoke in spin cycle

For sure change the belt. Clean the pulleys with a solvent to remove anything oily or like melted belt. The machine probably was overloaded. If it's a front loader, check the bearings.

My kia sorento 11 uses NGK R LFR5A 11 spark plugs and they are completely burnt at 8000kms this has made starting difficult is this normal?

I wish you could describe exactly what you meant by burnt. Because that could help with reading the plug and that in turn could give an indication of what is going on in the combustion chamber. If the thermal insulator at the center is completely melted for instance it could indicate that the mixture in the chamber is too lean and hence wearing the plug faster. If you have black deposits on the electrodes then the mix is too rich or there is oil leaking from either your rings or gaskets into the combustion chamber causing fouling and early destruction of the plugs, Mind you, I am assuming that your LFR 5As are the manufacturers recommended plugs otherwise their ratings could also affect what is going on in the combustion chamber and consequently the plugs. A rating of 11 for NGK is usually a cold plug and it will do well if the engine is frequently run at high speeds rather slow town start and stop idle situations.

Washing machine stopped spinning after several loads, and I smell a slight burning smell, won;t drain either.

it sounds like u might have some electrical problem in the controls however it may be the pump itsself has gone out but if u r getting an electrical smell could be causing the pump not to get power or the pump has burnt up causing the wires to get hot and start to melt myy bet is that the pump has gone out its not horribly bad to change out but kind of difficult for someone who isnt used to doing this kind of stuff

Electric supply plug burnt out

Prob is caused by bad or loose connection in plug top or socket the m/c plugs into.
Replace plug and if there are scorch marks or discolouring of the socket, then replace socket.
Plz rate my solution
Thanks.

Towels smell burnt after washing.

Are you sure the burnt smell is coming from the washer and not from the dryer? If you've placed a rubber backed rug or other similar article of clothing, it is not uncommon for that rubber backing to melt and get embedded in the heated duct of the dryer . Not sure this helps but if you can clarify the point at which the burnt smell is first observed that would help..
Thanks
