well that needs a driver to work AND DOES NOT WORK ON NEWER OS NOT TOLD..
THE MAKER OF THIS LAPTOP HAS GL40 DRIVER THAT USES NONE RAID MODE, (laptops can not use raid, no space for 2+ hdd) that means only gl40 drivers work;.

best is first turn off RST mode in BIOS (no raid)
and set ACHI only . there.
RST is RAID and not used.

right click on the device and remove when pop up comes up saying safe to remove.also reinstall the skype program or update the skype program

We took the rst401 back and got refund and are getting something else. Thank you for answering. The problem is working with Vista.
