Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Scratches/Director's Cut/ I can not find the support to the little stove. The walkthrough I have said to look into one of the holes of a cement block in the other room which is the unfinished bathroom. The finger zooms into a block but there is no support for the little stove. I have come so close to the end of the game and I am very frustrated about this. I have even started the game over thinking I must have skipped over an important step in the game. Can you help me?

How do I keep the seal in place on the door of the century wood burning stove.

Go to the local hardware, Lowe's or Home Depot and look for a product called "Gasketing Cement and Stove Sealer". Meeco's Red Devil is one manufacturer of the product. It withstands temps up to 2000 degrees. Cut the tip and run a moderate sized bead in the groove of the door or the front of the stove. Place the pre-cut NEW non-asbestos gasket in place and tamp it in lightly with your fingers. Then close the door to mold the gasket to the surface and don't disturb it until the sealant cures....ususally onernight or a full day while you are at work. Do not have a fire in the stove at the time.

Tip

Mending a tear in a poly tarp

Some holes in a poly tarp are able to be fixed easily while there will be other tears that might be grounds for tossing the tarp. For most small tears you can fix them yourself using some tarp repair tape and vinyl repair cement.

Before beginning gather up all your tools, a damp towel, a dry towel, utility knife or scissors, a role of tarp repair tape, a small jar of vinyl repair cement and a hair dryer.

You will want to find a clean place to lay out the tarp somewhere where there won't be any wind blowing your tarp around. If you do have to fix the tarp outside use weights or rocks to hold the sides down.

Find the hole or weak spot on the tarp and if there is any fraying use your scissors or utility knife to cut off the frays. If there are any bumps you will want to cut them out too.

After cutting off the frays you need to clean the area around the hole. The reason you need to clean it is because dust and dirt can make it difficult for the tape to stick. All you need is a little water and dish soap on a damp towel. Rub the solution onto the tarp at least six inches all the way around the rip, you can clean farther to be safe, but six inches should be enough.

Wipe off the soapy solution with fresh water and wipe dry the area with a clean dry towel. Repeat this cleaning for both sides of the tarp.

To close the tear, place your tarp repair tape over the hole and extend it out at least four inches on to the undamaged area. First cover the tear horizontally overlapping if you need more than one piece of tape. Once the tear is covered completely horizontally overlap the tape with a layer of tape vertically covering the hole and extending four inches on either side. Repeat for other side of the hole.

It is important that after you tape up the hole you need to let the tape sit for ten minutes to make sure that it has bonded properly. When you come back after ten minutes open your jar or vinyl repair cement and apply a generous amount of cement over the whole taped up area. To dry the cement grab your hair dryer and blow hot air on the cement until it is dry.

And there you have it a fixed tarp, granted not all holes can be fixed this way. But after its been fixed you can use it again like new.

Troubadour wood stove

Look up companies locally that can cut glass for CERAMIC glass only and get a rope gasket from a local stove company along with stove cement. Not the best solution and I can't guarantee it won't break again but that is the type of glass that would be utilized on a wood stove since the manufacturer is no longer in business.
You can also search on the internet for replacement parts for that manufacturer. It would be aftermarket but at least it would be the whole door.
Your other option is to replace the wood stove that takes the same size flue pipe as the Troubadour wood stove you have. Sorry not great answers but when these manufactures go under for a while its like trying to find parts for a studebaker. Sometimes you just have to make do.

The disc is scratches

If the scratches are only fine then you can polish out these scratches.
You need to purchase a CD scratch polishing kit from the computer shop or from the Internet.
Follow the instruction on the CD polishing kit.

Removing a stove pipe through the roof

I would begin by going up on the roof to see what the situation is because you are going to have to remove the stove pipe and repair the roof to assure no leaks. Usually the only thing holding the pipe is roof cement through a rubber boot. Use a razor blade knife to cut through the tar, then remove the boot by pulling the roofing nails that hold it in place. After that, patch the roof and reshingle. If this is more than you care to do yourself you will have to hire it done. good luck
