Question about Toshiba Satellite A135 Notebook
All of a sudden while using the touchpad, if I tap on the touchpad, whatever I am doing either minimizes or goes to smaller size. Not every time, only about 1 out of 8 taps this happens. Also when the curser is in the lower right side of the screen, it now changes to a scroll type mode. I have had the computer a few years and suddenly this started happening about 5 days ago. I checked for new drivers and updated if it said to, also resent my computer to 15 days ago in case something got downloaded or something. Any solution on how to set this back to where it was?? Any help is appreciated.
READ THIS POST NOT THE OTHERS. you can configure each of the four corners of the TouchPad surface to act as different buttons when tapped. These corner regions are called Tap Zones. to disable this feature goto control panel, mouse, device settings, settings, tapping, tap zones, disable tap zones.

I had the same problem. i went into the device options and under tapping i pressed "d" on my keypad- i had no idea what i was doing. anyway, it came up with a screen i had never seen before and i just ticked the box that said about switching to button mode. AMAZINGLY it worked

It seems you need to adjust the functions. There are several ways to resolve the issue. You may go to mouse option in the control panel. If your model has dual mode touchpad you can disable virtual buttons or you may reconfigure them accordingly. Also changing toucpad's sensitivity is another way of resolving the issue. If you need further assistance please post your question

I had the exact same problem start happening a few weeks ago. My windows kept minimizing on me when I would try to get the cursor into the search bar in the upper right corner. So far by simply hitting areas other than upper-right on the touchpad the problem has gone away.
Appreciate all the help, thank you!

Hey guest...solution # 2 was great for me...I thought I was having some sort of hardware problem. Great info. It would be nice if I was told of this before in some manual or something.

No, leave the functions the way they are, it just all depends on what part of the touchpad you hit, The top right corner of your touchpad, if touched, will minimize whatever window you have showing. The bottom right, will maximize, or bring it back from the toolbar. I wouldn't suggest changing anything.
