Question about RCA Scenium HDLP61W151 61 in. HD-Ready Television

RCA Scenium HDLP61W151

Several months ago our power went out. We lost only our analog channels for several days. One night the TV shut itself down, restarted & we had our analog channels back. Two weeks ago we had to shut our power off for a few minutes (TV was not on). When we turned it back on, once again our analog channels were gone. We went through the set-up where you do a channel search. Still no analog. We get sound for about 2 seconds, then sound goes away and it says, "unusable signal". Because we have no analog channel, we can't use the DVD, VCR, or front input. TV is only two years old!! We only have an antenae. No cable or dish. Local retailer has never heard of this and has no clue.

After a power failure the set rejects every channel EXCEPT HiDef channels. Broadcast stations and all other cable will produce audio for 2 seconds and then we get the "unusable signal" message. Tried everything. Happened once before and two weeks later it suddenly accepted all signals.

RedRacer guy, you are awesome! I had the same problem as the 2 other people with this issue. I did the reset on the "reset all" on the ethernet connection not expecting this to do anything and as I exited this, the TV came on!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

I had the same behavior, but not as a result of power outage. The TV is driven by windows CE software and it goes haywire every now and then. Usually pulling the plug for a few seconds takes care of any problems, but not this time (as you noticed). I had unplugged my ethernet connection on the TV a few weeks ago and thought I'd hook it up again to see if there was a new software release (not likely). I went to the menu and chose "Connections" and then chose "Ethernet Setup" and then chose "Reset All". After I closed the menu the TV rebooted itself (as it said it would). After my TV rebooted I had my analog channels back. There shouldn't be any connection between these two events, but it worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you as well. Good Luck!

There's a buzzing sound coming from our RCA Scenium tv, how do we fix it?

Are you using RCA type audio cables?, if so, make sure the connectors are tight and the cables are not frayed, it also helps routing those analog cables at least 8 inches away from any power cords or transformers. Buzzing usually is caused by loose ground connections or RF interference.

I have an rca 61" dlp tv that is about 4 years

More than likely you have a power board that is failing. Since the TV is so old I doubt it is under warranty still. I estimate it would cost you anywhere between $300-400 to repair that problem so it may be time to switch to a newer LCD TV.

Dark picture on RCA Scenium 61 in DLP

Yes, the lamp will gradually get darker as it nears it's end. The rolling lines sounds more like the set is on a local channel for the cable hook up. If your local area has a channel 3 or 4 live terestrial broadcast simply tune the cable box output to the other one, the same for the tv.
If this is cable/local broadcast issue it will go away in Febuary when the NTSC broadcast ends.

Poor screen resolution and unable to get channel guide.

The channel guide is a service just like closed caption. Rumer has it that it's not going to be around for much longer. The only fix is to unplug set ..wait awhile till memory loss occurs...plug back up and do a setup. Nothing in the TV will cause partial guide. Weak signal could and cause fuzzy picture too. Complain to cable company. But brightness problem is something else.

"weak signal" on my RCA scenium

Hey! I have the same problem as you. But! this would happen only when I got a power outage. Unplug the TV for a couple of minutesand all was fine. For the last 5 day I have no TV. I have tried everything. All the out on the TV and I still get unusable signal. My rep told me to unplug for 24 Hours. Still didn't work. My menu option work as well and every time I put the TV on, off or if I change the input sound will come on for 2 seconde and stop. If I find the salution I will let you know. Gilles Ottawa
