The fuse has blown out and some CAPACITORS ON THE POWER BOARD. You will need to replace the fuse first and then look for blown out capacitors on the powerboard using a multimeter... Just in case you locate the faulty capacitors just note down the values on them and google for them. Shouldn't be hard, anyways if can't find them i will be right here to help!

If you already tried the hard boot/reset by unplugging it and plugging back in, I would suggest to remove all the speakers connected and try to power it back on.
If that does not work, the system does have a internal failure and it goes into standby mode to protect itself and it will not power up until the failure has been fixed.
I would suggest to take it to a technician to troubleshoot it or if you are electronically incline and want a challenge, you can try to fix it yourself.
Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Hi, did you try switching on both from remote and button?
Try first disconnecting from the power and connecting back, as already suggested.

Then first check this link out, it is the official solution for your problem, but it may not work:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/faqview?slg=ENG&scy=&ctn=HTS3400/37B&refnr=0015959&dct=QAC&session=20080217131905_84.9.43.114&searchtext=reset%20unit

Here is the prcedure to reset the unit to factory settings, try it, if it works then your system should turn on in the middle of the procedure :

Press OPEN/CLOSE on the front panel, while pressing down OPEN/CLOSE, press numerical keypad “1” on the remote control. The blue DVD background appears on the TV screen.

If all these solution do not work, then the electronics or button may be faulty, in this case I will need more details to solve your problem.

In addition here is the user manual:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/h/hts3400_37b/hts3400_37b_dfu_eng.pdf#search='red%20light'

hope it helps

Hi,

Have you performed a "hard start". This is done by totally unplugging the unit from the wall and waiting for 15 seconds. See if that helps...

Goodluck..

My ps3 wont power up

try powering the system up by HOLDING the on;off button , it will reset all your audio and video settings . then plug the system using the AV cables (default) .

else, you should take it to an assastance centre for hardware issues checking . can be a problem with your RAM or GPU units that makes the system unable to startup it's firmware .
