Question about HP Photosmart 2575 All-In-One InkJet Printer
When I scan and copy, I get a few thick black lines on the new document. Tried the cleaning steps suggested at the HP website with no results.
What is happening is that there could possibly be streaks on the scanner glass pane. Also check the printer heads and rollers. If the heads are dirty then it will give streaks in the print. If the rollers are dirty or are flatten right out or are chipped and mar then that will also cause streaks in the printing.
If you are also using re-filled ink cartridges or you are using the refill kits on old cartridges that could also cause the quality of your prints to go down.

The scanner unit in the printer is broken. simple as that. you will probably find that if you try to scan to your computer the results are the same
