Technics SUV500 Amplifier

Hello,

When I play my tuner through my speakers everything sounds fine. However when using my turntable, CD player or Auxiliary input I only get sound from the left channel. The sound coming from the right speaker is barely audible.

The amp is nearly 20 years old.

Can anyone suggest what could be wrong please given the inconsistencies?

Many thanks

Dan

Check for dry solder joints on the inputs.
Technics amps are prone to these after a few years.

Hope this helps.

Check volume balance between right and left-then change inter connection between sound source and amplifier with new cabel(i prefer gold plated type connectors)(see radio shack).
after that if the problem excit your fault in output transistors or output stereo ic depend on circuit design.

My su-g95 technics Stereo integrated amplifier wont play any noise. and when i adjust the volume it makes a popping/crackling noise. i am 100% sure all the speakers were hooked up correctly.

Well it sounds like your amplifier IC's are working correctly since you are hearing that pop. I have the same amplifier and every 10db increment it pops. Have you tried every input? Possibly try starting at a low volume, plug an RCA plug into CD or any other input, and touch the center prong of the other end of the cable. You should get a 60hz hum if your in the USA, otherwise it will be 50-55hz. Regardless it should make noise.

SURROUND AND CENTER SPEAKERS WORK FINE BUT NO SOUND COMING FROM FRONT SPEAKERS. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?

Can you fill in something about the speakers and how you have them attached? Since this is a stereo amplifier one wonders how you have anything but the front speakers powered unless you're using THIS amp for just the one pair and driving it from an AV receiver pre-out.

All sources or just one? Make sure the Tape Monitor isn't engaged unless you're using an external tape deck or processor. A turntable will only work on the PHONO input.

You could be getting acoustic feedback from the speakers to the TT's. Lower the volume or somehow isolate them from room sounds and vibrations.

SUV500 2-Channel Amplifier: Hi! can I connect another technics cd-player,sl...

yes you can connect another cd player to the DAT input of your amp.
input connections like DAT, TUNER, CD, AUX etc (except phono) is just to differentiate between what sources are connected, the amp cannot tell what source is connected and will output the sound no problem.

as for the remote operation, if the 2 technics cd players are switched on at the same time they're going to do what you command from the remote together but you'll obviously be listening to 1 at a time.

Technics turntable plays but no sound with Sherwood receiver

The problem is the fact that the new receiver has no phono input. The phono input has an extra stage of amplification built in. Your receiver is working fine. You need to purchase a phono pre-amp. These run around $20. Connect the turntable to the preamp and the presmp output to any line level input on your new receiver and everything will work as expected.
