Dryer is not heating well

I have a fisher and paykel electric dryer model number degx1 and have noticed that it is not drying as well as it should. I cleaned the vent hose out and no lint was in it. I also went on line and came across other people having the same problem and they said to push the reset button which I did. I also called fisher and paykel and they told me that they have an upgraded heating element. I would like to see if I can replace this myself or should I call someone in to do it. Can you help?

My dryer problem turned out to be a bad wire connection which in turn melted the wire which fried the main drying sensors which are located under the brown plastic box on the left hand corner of the dryer. fisher and paykel will pay for the part but not the labor. So, it might not be the heating element after all. Check the wires. N

Replacing the elements in this dryer are easy. They are located in the front not back. If you found the reset button, it is mounted on the housing, a phillips screwdriver is all you need.

A heating element is not hard to change out, open the back of the dryer and locate the heating elemental unscrew the screws and replace it. Let me rephrase that the heating elements are usually not hard to change out. I pretty sure if you no where the heating element is you will have no problem with. let me know how it goes for you.

My Fisher Paykel degx1 heats but doesn't run long enough to dry, clothes still damp. I set to extra dry, still no luck. Thermostat, and a couple other parts just recently replaced.

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

The dryer won't run. Dry, extra dry, and coold down process lights are lit.

Hi, the lights are signaling a control fault the is concerning the logic sector of the control board/timer. you will need to make sure that the wiring harness is connected to all points and it should be in good condition. if there are no apparent issue with the wiring harness, replace the control.

Fisher and Paykel DEGX1 Electric Dryer Stays Warm

Yes, get a new element. The reason it's on all the time is because the element coils have broken and one of the coils is touching the canister that encloses it. This creates a direct short to ground. By the way, the element has 120 volts to it all the time. It will only HEAT when 240 is applied through the centrifugal switch of the motor. Your 120 volts is shorting to ground... not enough amps to trip the circuit breaker, but enough to glow the element.
