this radio is a ham radio. It should put out 200 w on the ham freqs but it is only supposed to put out no more than 4 - 5 watts on am. Can do 50 on SSB and if you bought it without realizing it,and now you\'re mad because it won\'t do what it is supposed to. next time read the small print and you won\'t be out so much money.
lot of possibilities but the one I'm thinking of is , did you buy this radio new or used. If you bought it used there is a chance that the person that owned it last broke it and couldn't fix it so he sold it to you. Now you see the problem and want to fix it but don't know where to start. ok ,here goes. Check your antenna system A bad ground will will give you this problem.Make sure you SWR is low. then if that doesn't cure it open the radio and check for bad solder joints. Flex the radio and see if ti comes on. Check to see how it will cost to fix it ,then go buy another one.Only if no other options work.
All you really need is the same supplies that run or are provided for the radio/cd player. As both will not be in operation at the same time, there is not a problem with splitting the current "live" "earth" to use on the 8 track, but do fit the live with it's own fuse
The unit is locked your appointed dealer or delco can unlock it for you. You may need proof of how you obtained it. if you know the sets history a previous owner may remember the code he used. firstname.lastname@example.org
