Question about Sharp XR-10X Multimedia Projector

Not showing entire image on screen

When I view the screen, there is a true right edge of the picture. But on the left edge, there is a shadow line about a foot in the viewing area. you can still see what's suppose to be the true left edge in the shaded area. We changed the type of viewing(front, front ceiling, rear, rear ceiling) but that left edge was still lined by a shadow. Its like there is a piece of tape on the lense.

As I stated earlier, turned on my pj today and a quarter of the left side is dark, it looks like something is blocking it. I looked into the lense and did not see anything covering the light and could not tell whether something might have dropped or moved. This shadow border line running vertically is covering at least a 1/4 of the image.

nothing I have downloaded really breaks down steps for the actual disassembly and adjustment of the lens component for me. I could attempt to open the projector body but that's where I'm clueless to the next step....

The projector model is a Sharp XR-10X series DLP Projector. I didn't run it off a computer. I used my dish satillite box to watch the fight this past weekend. I also hooked up my DVD player.

The lens may be out of place, I will see if I can find service manual or diagrams to disassemble the projector safely and fix the problem.

It's possible that your projector doesn't natively support your display resolution, but to know more it would be best if you could provide the following details:

Projector Model
PC Model
Windows Version
Windows Resolution/Refresh Rate
Display type (if laptop) cloned/extended, etc

Thanks!

If line is very straight and sharp edges then green LCD is faulty and need to be replaced.

Hi there

Is it a LCD or DLP ?

First try using a different cable. If the problem stil occurs this might be a faulty Mainboard - which would need either repair or replacement.

Does the discolouration show in the startup screen as well ?

We have had similar issue w/ multiple LP70+ projectors. The units get to be 1-2 years old and suddenly the right vertical edge of the display is distorted. There is usually a shadowed vertical bar that clouds about 3-5% of the horizontal space from the right edge.
What's the cause?
