I have a trojan virus on my computer. I've been trying to install a new virus program on my computer for about a month now but it won't allow me to do it. I keep getting a message that my old virus program is still on the computer even though I uninstalled it months ago. Is there any way that I can find the program through the C prompt so I can delete it and get my new program to install.
My computer said it had a trojan virus, I bought the norton anti-virus, installed it, and everything was okay, until 3 days later, norton had alerted me that there was another virus and that I had to restart in order to fix the problem. I restarted the computer, and now it won't let me log into my account, it boots up and then I can't get into to the main screen at all.
Download avasticlear from the link http://www.ziddu.com/download/8364900/avastantivirusremover.zip.html and run .
Once you finish you get mesage, click yes, reboot your pc ,now you can install other antivirus
Avast.com, free anti-virus and will do a boot-scan on restart to fix any issues before windows starts, and should load over your current (deleted) anti-virus
Your best approach (other than backing-up your data, formatting the disk-drive, reinstalling Windows, and restoring from your backup) is:
1. turn the computer off
2. disconnect the AC power-cord
3. remove the side-panel
4. disconnect & remove the disk-drive
5. install the disk-drive as a "slave" drive in some other computer that has _working_ anti-virus software
6. run a full virus-scan of the "slave" disk-drive
7. disconnect the drive, and re-install it into your own computer
Or, take the computer to a qualified technician, so that they can do the above.
