Toshiba satellite m305-s4910 flickering toolbar

My M305-S4910 was doing the same thing. After some research, I replaced the video cable. The flickering was not as bad, but still there. I just replaced the inverter, and the pink line beneath the toolbar is now gone and so is the flickering. :-)

Laptop display is hard to see and the brightness function keys do not increase or decrease screen brightness.

There is a possibility that your screen backlight has malfunctioned. go get it replaced. that should solve your problem.

During BIOS update the computer ( toshiba m305-s4910) froze. I disconnected the computer by removing the the power cord and th battery. Later, I put the battery back and connected the power plug. What I...

the bios is the operating system in the chip attached to the mother board
It is the primary system that gets the computer working (turns on all of the right electronic switches so to speak to boot up and power on)
It never needs up dating and the confusion is caused by the updating references to the operating systems ( win xp, 7 8 vista etc) which are not the bios

My new Satellite M305-S4910 is experiencing a monitor flickering. What can I do to stop it flickering?

Remove the power strip above the keyboard and the keyboard and remove the bezel on the LCD. This will give you a clear view of the wiring leading from the screen to the motherboard. Look for a loose connection or rubbed or frayed wiring. Also, a lot of video problems are from the cable getting loose that runs from the back of the screen. This is a flat cable the fits in a socket on the back of the screen.

Here is the lcd removal duide for your laptop....
