Purchased about 3 years ago, similar to TOB 175 - Door spring just broke. Cuisinart say they don't have part for this. Can the oven door be fixed. Cannot find a diagram of interior.
I had same problem with my cuisinar 350 series broken door spring. After disassembly found a broken extension spring measuring about 3/16 dia.,by 6.5 inches long.Spring was broken about a third down. I lifted ,or bended a loop and a halve up from each broken section and joined the two sections together. lifting each loop of the spring is tricky at first, requires a small screwdriver to be inserted between loop to be lifted and then gently bent the loop with needlenose pliers.
Not knowing how to disassemble the unit I had a hard time assembling the unit back.
I would start by taking off the screws holding the front black backlite first, then the main cover.
The main stainless steel cover does not have to be removed completely, by just gently unbending
the cover I was able to access the spring for removal.

I have the mod # BOV800XL can't completly take the cover off it seems to still be connected somewhere.I guess I'm going to bite the bullet and pay $75.00 for a ten cent spring!! Any help out there?
