The CPU cooler may be stopped up-- not working. That causes the processor to shut down se-f-protecting against excess heat. Check the cooling fan first.

Monitor problem

Your monitor is sensitive to magnetic interference from your pc speakers, place them away from the monitor at all times then the montor should go back to normal within a few hours or so. you could try to degause it every couple of hours or so but this will not totally fix the problem, leaving the monitor switched off for a period should work better.

Remove heat sink,make cpu body.

IF I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO SAY I BELIEVE I UNDERSTAND MOST ENOUGH TO SAY YOU HAVE VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AND NEED TO STOP EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW UNTIL YOU FIX CPU!! YOU HAVE SERIOUS OVERHEATING PROBLEM AND ARE PROBABLY CLOSE TO KILLING YOUR WHOLE SYSTEM!! A PENTIUM 4,3GHZ PROCESSOR PUTS OUT A LOT OF HEAT AND THAT IS WHY THE HEAT SINK MELTED, BUT YOU CAN'T RUN WITHOUT REPLACING IT WITH SOMETHING ELSE BETTER THAN WHAT YOU HAD THAT DIDN'T WORK! THIS IS WHY THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS SHUTTING DOWN. IT IS SAYING, IT IS WAY TO HOT TO RUN AND WE ARE GOING TO SHUT DOWN BEFORE WE BURN UP!!! YOU MUST GET MORE COOLING INTO YOUR CASE AND ONTO THAT PENTIUM PROCESSOR AND GET MORE HEAT OUT OF THE CASE. YOU MAY NEED TO ADD ADDITIONAL FANS OR VENTS, BUT YOU HAVE TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE BEFORE YOU RUN THIS MACHINE OR YOU WILL FRY IT!! THE MOTHERBOARD CAN'T TAKE THE HEAT EITHER! REPLACE THE HEATSINK WITH AN ALUMINUM ONE, NOT THAT PLASTIC ONE FROM DELL, AND MOUNT A FAN ON TOP IF NEED BE. YOU HAVE TO THINK COOOOL!!! YOU HAVE THE POWER, BUT IT ISN'T GOING TO DO YOU ANY GOOD IF IT GOES UP IN SMOKE! I'VE BUILT TO MANY MACHINES TO SEE ONE FRY FOR OVERHEATING. YOU SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST FOUR FANS IN THAT CASE, NO COUNTING THE ONE ONE THE VIDEO CARD OR THE ONE IN THE POWER SUPPLY.
DO IT RIGHT AND SHE WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT AND PURR LIKE A KITTEN! NEED HELP-REPLY TO: ARCLIGHT1217

Asus P3V 4X DIP Switch problem

Hello. This is more a software related issue. If it were from the processor itself you couldn't power on or received weird error during Power ON Self Check. If the processor was overcloaked windows will indead try to start but fail. Therefore, if you know you haven't overcloaked the processor you should try to reinstall a clean copy of windows by booting the computer with the windows installation CD. Hope this helps, good luck and always remember to rate the solutions received from this site :)
