If the power is off during the water spilting on the xbox then it is still fine. Just open up the casing and use a cotton cloth or tissue paper to rub any water trace inside the xbox that can be seen. Then use a hair dryer to dry out completely any spilt water left. Caution do the blow dry slowly, if it getting hot just stop and wait a few minutes before you blow it again. Left it open for a couple of hours before putting back the casing. Once you feel that tthe xbox is completely dry then try to turn it on. Good Luck.

If this is the first time you have connected your Xbox 360 to Xbox Live, you will probably be prompted to apply an update. If there are no updates, the Xbox Live Connection page shows that you're connected to Xbox Live. Press the Y button on your controller to continue.
If testing the Xbox it says DNS failed, then update your NETGEAR router firmware:
From your computer, open an Internet Browser and navigate to http://kb.netgear.com to download the firmware for your router.
Log in to your NETGEAR router by browsing to http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com. Enter the username (admin) and password. By default, the password is password or 1234 unless it has already been changed.
Click Router Upgrade on the top left pane under Maintenance, browse for the firmware downloaded and click Upload.
the problem is that your xbox rejects the adapter. try another adapter or try plugging it in to another port. I cannot for sure say its your xbox but it may be the adapter so try another one. if it works your adapter is not sending any information to your xbox and cannot be used. if it doesn't your xbox wont accept any hardware. to be sure its your xbox try connecting it through a ethernet cable. if it works your xbox cannot connect to that adapter..
You may need to foward ports and allow the router to talk to your xbox 360. I do not know the ports of the top of my head but when u get the error from your xbox 360 that it cant connect look into where it says ways to solve the problem. It should tell you the ports. Personaly I am wired and its way better. No lag and no problems.
