Problem for JVC GR-SXM260U Camcorder

When I turn on my camcorder and look at the view finder all I get is a snowy picture. With the cap off, it still says that the cap is on. How do I fix this. Marshall

- the screen has no picture and even with the lens cap off it still shows a message to remove the lens cap..I have tried everything that i know to do. any help on this would be greatly appreciated!- skreaminsue

In camera mode if you look through the lens and have a black picture with the message lens cap on and you see that the iris is opening up and there are no bad connections to the ccd then the imager is suspect. Your snowy playback picture problem may just require a clearing however.
