See below:
It's not cool If the refrigerator isn't cool, you need to answer some questions, then see if the compressor is running.

First, answer these questions:

  • Is the refrigerator completely dead? If so, see “It's stopped completely.”

  • Is the thermostat knob turned to the proper setting? If not, reset it.

Next, see if the compressor motor is running

The compressor is a football-sized case with no apparent moving parts. It's on the outside of the refrigerator at the back near the bottom. If it is humming or making a continuous noise and your refrigerator is still not cooling, there may be a more serious problem with one or more of several different components, we recommend contacting a qualified appliance repair technician for further help.

If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the refrigerator, there may be a problem with one or more of these:

  • The compressor

  • The Thermostat

  • The overload, relay, or capacitor

  • The defrost timer

  • The condenser fan motor

Hi,

Sounds like a relay is chattering on the board. First thing would be to change that circuit board, it controls pretty much the whole unit. Make SURE the clicking is coming from the board and NOT the compressor though! See item 801 b

Goodluck..

If your freezer is not cooling and you here a click noise then the problem is with the relay as i told before.

You can give this method a try first :

Your freezer is probably iced up, blocking airflow to the fridge part.
Unplug it for 2 days and let it stand open to defrost or take the
evaporater cove off and defrost it with warm water or a hair dryer.
Just dont melt any plastic walls/parts. This could be because a door
was left ajar, or because your defrost system failed if it happens
    again. Good Luck!

There are lots of things that can cause cooling problems. One of the most common causes of poor cooling in a frost free refrigerator is a defrost system failure. In such a case one or the other compartment may appear to be keeping proper temperature but that too may change in a short period of time. The fridge compartment's temperature rise is usually the first to be noticed

Fridge not cooling or freezing

Work on the fridge problem first and the freezer may be fixed by that.

1/Thermostats lose sensitivity over time. The thermostat or sensor may be defective.
or
2/ You have lost some of your refrigerant and it is undercharged. It does evaporate very slowly but a pinhole would lose it in minutes.

Do not continue to run it or your compressor may overheat and fail. The sides of the fridge are probably quite warm from this happening already.

GE Profile Side by Side is getting too cold on the fridge side.

I have a GE refrigerator with the same problem of my food freezing in the refrigerator. I spoke to an appliance part person and they sold me a temperature sensor for 20 bucks. They said it would be located in the control panel, but I took the control panel off and can't find the sensor. I'm now looking on yahoo answers to find out where the sensor is located.

Does not stop cooling down

Door edges being warm is caused by what is called mullion heaters that operate to prevent humidity from condensing at these points.
Some refrigerators have an energy saver switch. Turn this switch if you have one to the energy saving position when the humidity is low. Is anything freezing in the refrigerator? If so setting the controls to a little higher setting may solve your problem.
