Power Shot A560

  1. New camera....down load / transfer pictures is diferent than my last Power Shot.
  2. With my old camera I did not install the installation disc and when I transfered pictures into my computer it was very easy. I was able to transfer the pictures / chose to automatically delete the images after the down load.
  3. After download I was able to name he file as I chose tto.
  4. I have not been able to igure any of this out with this new camera.
I am a home inspector and shoot 45 to 96 pictures each time. I do this twice a day. It has to be a smoth quick process so I can get me reports out. With this new camer I cannot figure out why I can't have the same process. I really need to keep it simple & fast.

Please help............

I am not focused on speed of the download. I want the process to be simple and I do not want to have to buy or use additional equipment. The old way was simple and easy. I need to be able to name the file for easy identification and access. I need to have the option to delte the pictures after they download.........why isn't this a option?

Really the simplest, easiest, and fastest way to download would be with a USB card reader. Simply pull the memory card out of your camera, insert it in the reader, then your computer will recognize it as a hard drive. Simply drag and drop all the pictures from the card to your computer. You should also experience much faster download speed with a reader than from the camera. And card readers are very inexpensive these days:

I cant turn on my camara to my laptop

Most brands of cameras deliver a CD with the camera, containing software, needed to backup, transfer and work with the pictures shot, on a computer.
Most of the time there is software is for both, Windows and MAC.
Before you connect the camera to any computer, you should install the software. The disk also has the drivers for the old operating systems.
If you lost the CD, or just don't know where it is right now, you can go to the site of your camera brand and try to download the software you need. For that look under support.
If your camera is old, and the brand does not exist anymore, try a freeware picture transfer / editing software pack. Like Gimp or Adobe Photoshop elements.
Just connecting a camera to a computer causes two things. The camera shuts down, and the computer won't recognise the camera. So nothing works.
Some cameras can be charged with an USB cable connected to the computer. Another reason, why the camera shuts down when no software and no driver is installed.

We got a new computer because our old one crashed and now we don't have the software for our camera. we have the Power Shot A560. Is there a site that we can upload the necessary software to use our camera...

Assuming you have a Windows computer - there is no software required to upload images from the camera.
Windows can do that all by itself.
If you want sofrtware to manipulate imges than download and install the free 'picasa' from Google.
