I have the music on my computer so I just copy and paste it onto my usb.
Music was originally ripped from CD using windows media player

  • Silverhawk74 Feb 19, 2008

Documents etc store well, it only seems to be with the music.

  • Silverhawk74 Feb 19, 2008

I have tried transfering via realplayer and that didn't work either.

The computer is a IBM ThinkPad and Microsoft Windows XP 2000

  • Silverhawk74 Feb 19, 2008

Not sure - purchased over ebay

  • Silverhawk74 Feb 19, 2008

Files are fine played from the hard drive and also when I transfer them to a SanDisk 2GB micro or crossfire

ahah..well..then, the only reason there are more than one copy, is perhaps due to a multiple placement. Try this with anything else, a document, etc, to see if it's the same thing.

ok..then there's something about the copy/paste ever considered using wmp or real player to do same thing? Open a song, then save to a library on your usb drive..

ok..let's look at compatibility of IBM to your usb device...make of usb device?

  • Patrick Michaels
    Patrick Michaels Feb 19, 2008

ok..that makes more sense..IBM is particularly nasty about compatibility. This situation has three aspects:

    Mp3 encoding compatibility
    IBM to usb device compatibility
Media player compatibility to all above

Can I assume that the files play fine from the hard drive?

ok..jury is in..verdict? the ebay usb device MUST be incompatible with closed?

gotta love Big Blue. Hope you have had enough support on this issue.

    got backup for that Thinkpad?

How to upload songs to my mobile from pc

To do this you'll need to have itunes installed. You can get it here.

Once installed, add your music to your iTunes (you can deselect in settings (setting -> advanced -> copy files to itunes media folder) that you want to copy the files to the iTunes folder; do this if you don't want duplicates).

Connect your iPhone with your computer using the usb cable and open iTunes. Select your phone. Now you'll have the choice to either manually add music files or synchronize your entire library. Since you only have 8GB, I recommend to sync your music manually.

Drag and drop the music from your iTunes library to your device (should be in the rop right corner, next to the "iTunes Store" button)

I added songs but it will not let me listen to anything

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :-

How do I put my music from Itunes on the usb drive and when do I know that they are on it

Plug your usb pen into a usb slot on your computer,
open 'My computer' from your start menu or desktop,
Select your usb drive by double clicking it to open it,

Open itunes and right click on the song you would like to transfer,
click on 'show in windows explorer' This will then open up the musics file location,
have your usb drives window open in another screen and drag and drop the music file from its location the the usb drive, it will tell you how long is left of transfer, once finished transferring the notification of transferring wil then stop and close.

Select multiple music files to transfer by highlighting them and right clicking any one of them and then again completing the steps above.

I dont know how to download songs from my PC to USB. pls teach me.

if you open up where your songs are stored

insert your unit into the usb

then go to the song/songs highlight them right click them and send to your usb unit

open the box where songs are stored but make the box smaller by clicking the square box symbol up in the top right hand side of the music box and then go down one of the sides of the same box hover your mouse slowly over the edge until it changes to a left & right arrow
then click on it and drag it to make it smaller

then go to my computer find the usb unit open that and do the same to that box so that you then have two boxes opened on your desktop

then go to the music box hightlight the music and simply drag over into the usb box

thats it

How can i save songs to my usb?

First go to where you have your music, and copy the songs you want.
Then if your USB is already connected to a USB port, go to My computer and open the USB drive.
Once inside is always good to create a new folder. Right click and create a new folder, name it as you wish.
Enter the new folder, then hit Ctrl and V and you will be pasting the songs you previously copied.

If nothing happens go back to the original music folder and select and copy your favorite songs.
Then go to the USB music folder and past.

Hope this helps

My USB device cannot store songs. its a 1 GB USByet it can only store up to 10 songs

If you are storing mp3 music or songs, then 10 songs on a 1Gb USB flash drive is all you can store on this flash drive.
The average mp3 music file can vary 3Mb to 5Mb in size depending upon the length of time of the music/song.

My micro sd card has songs in the my music folder but is not playing on my phone

Check to see if you can see the song files when you put the card (in a card reader), into the computer. If yes, then just copy the songs on your hard drive, then put the card back into your phone and format it. Then, again, copy the songs back from the computer and see whether it works.

Hope that helps,

I want to download songs onto my new LG Vantage. Do I use the USB? Is the USB port the same as where I charge it?

You could use either micro sd card to add music to your lg vantage or usb cable. Add music to the micro sd card using the card reader(present in laptops or can be bought seprately) or use usb cable to connect your phone, open it, you would see a folder named music or songs, Now drag or copy your favourite songs into your phone.

Note if a folder named music doesn't exist then don't worry just copy the music and paste it.
