You can download any/all the Windows XP device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers. Use this link :-. http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp# The latest service pack for XP is SP3, I recommend you install this, see if you can borrow a CD with SP3 because it is approx. 350Mb in size and would take some time to download.
You can only only find the drivers in Toshiba europe and you will have to to begin with the first series of you particular; your's being A-series, search for the last model number to support xp and VIOLA your home free =) I know this cuz I just downgraded a Toshiba Satellite A135- S2286 Happy Driver hunting and Good Luck XP RULES =)
Yes you can downgrade it to windows xp. go to toshiba website www.toshiba.com and from there you can download the drivers for Windows XP. befor installing Windows XP please download the Network driver and save it on a CD or any other driver. Then install Windows XP. Install the network drivers, connect to the internet and install the other drivers required.

Ok I did the samething because I did not like that vista program, I had the exact same problem, Ok make sure what drivers your computer uses, and just double check, Ok go into your device manager look down the list there should be yellow ? marks by the drivers that are not working. Roll down to what ones are yellow right click and update drivers see if that works frist.
