Hello, My babysitter was playing Wii and hit our Toshiba LCD flat screen television with the controller on the right upper side of the screen. There is a scratch mark about 3 inches long, but the biggest problem is that the top half of the screen is all vertical coloured lines. I can see the bottom half of people sitting in chairs, but the entire top-half of the screen is all lined. Is there anything I can do to repair this problem? Donna

The problem could be dirt on the surface of the lens, you can clean this by removing the cover of the dvd player .
Gently use a dry cotton bud to clean the lens because the lens is fragile.
Insert the disc plate into the dvd player and press play, if it does not play try the second method.
Ensure the cover of the player is open, connect the power plug to the mains socket and observe the lens if it beam a red light, Also check the ribbon cable use to connect the lens to the printed circuit board, then gently clean the lens with a dry cotton bud , insert the disc plate and press play to see if it play.
If it does not play the disc, then this require a change of the lens
Sorry, that's not fixable. The display would need to be replaced. Since the display panel is most of the cost of an LCD TV, it's usually almost as expensive to replace the display as it is to replace the set.
You have a broken LCD panel. The picture finally died, probably because the driver failed trying to drive a cracked panel. I'm sorry to tell you this, but the cost of repairs will exceed what you paid for the TV. Even though this is bad news, I would appreciate a good rating. Sorry about your situation.
Unfortunately once the screen is broken if you want to repair it, it might cost as much as a new LCD.
You can give Toshiba a call and see what they say the cost will be.

Yes you can replace just the screen. Various retailers sell them online. Do a search online, and if you need instruction on how to replace the screen, you can get a manual usually at this link. Hope this helps. http://www.smshop.org/
