Re: need your suggestion for new product
That really depends on how heavy your print and copy volume are going to be. What functions do you need, Copying, Fax, printing, scanning. All those come into play when discussing a new machine. How many pages per month needs to be known before a good recommendation can be made.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

You're probably lucky that your machine still works after using non-xerox products, in any event, I'd suggest a new Xerox Extended kit, it's possible the non-xerox product didn't work as intended and your replacement kit wore out faster because of it.
The kit contains a micro chip which "resets' the counter in your machine, as the count comes from the kit, not the machine itself, however, the machine is capable of sensing when the maintenance kit has reached end of life regardless of count.
Additionally, you should check the wiper blade (you can see it when you remove the maintenance kit) for excessive wax buildup which generally means the machine needs service.
These are great printers, very fast for the quality. They can be quite a nightmare to service due to so many systems which have to be exact!
My #1 advice on this product is if you own one, never ever move it while it's hot! or you could face a very expensive repair!
I've check some of the top printers and I set an eye on this 3 printers because of their great reviews. Hope you can choose from one of these options.Model name: Phaser 3635MFPWorkCentre 3210/3220Phaser™ 6180MFP
Xerox discontinued support services of the xd120f as of December 29, 2006. There are no plans to develop
Vista or win 7 drivers for these products.
You could use a program like virtual box - http://www.virtualbox.org to create a virtual Windows XP machine; install Windows XP on a seperate partition or install the printer on another PC in your house with XP and share the printer resource across the network.
most possible cause is the Memory added above the 32MB base is failing. if thats how you have it setup.
Remove the additional memory module from the machine and test the machine.
If the machine powers up and prints correctly this confirms the additional
memory has failed. Insure the memory removed form the machine is the correct
memory for this product and that it was installed correctly. Replace the
defective memory if it is Xerox memory. If the memory was purchased by the
customer and is not Xerox memory they will need to file a warranty claim with
the company they purchased the memory from.
Your main drive motor is either not statting or the main board is not sensing it. You can remove the covers, WITH THE MACHINE UNPLUGGED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and reset all the connectors, check the drive motor, and see if maybe a gear is broken., If the machien is less than 1 year old. Call 1-800-835-6100. You will have some kind of 1 year warranty, Either on site or in depot repair, which would mean they will ship you a new machine with a box to return the one you have. If you call, make sure you have the serial number handy so it can verify the warranty.
Windows Vista Note: There are no plans to develop Vista drivers for the Xerox Small Office/Home Office products. Please check with a Xerox Sales Representative for the latest products with Vista support.
