Please let me know more details. What wires are going where, is the guitar dongle plugged in, etc.

    Thanks

If its a usb pluggin guitar then all you have to do is go to tools on the main ps3 screen and go to accssories then go to AUDIO DEVICE SETTINGS then press X the press the up or down button on the thing where it says INPUT device but dont do any thing to theOUTPUT device

I did what it was explained by ericsnow1 and I made the microphone to appear on the PS3 settings. However, to actually play the game I did not know to to make the microphone work. I did some research and you have to use an actual PS3 Controller to select you mic settings. For example, once you have plugged in you mic, you will need the controller to select songs, difficulty, etc.

Rock band won't recognise guitar hero 5 guitar

Possible you need to reset the PS3 . Also check if the CD is reading, is compatible and not a pirated version.
Finally check if the parental control is active.

SCPH-75001 model PS2, What Rock Band or Guitar Hero will work?

make shaw its not a ps3 game, not trying to be patronizing but ive had 3 people do that brought ps3 games and try to put them in ps2, its true sony are rip off merchants, my advise is not to get a wii ether go for a xbox 360, he will love you for ever. the download content alone you can get for rock band1/2 and guitar hero world tour is worth it

Guitar Hero Guitar with Rock Band disc

It depends on which version of Rock band you are playing, Rock band 1 will not work with Guitar Hero guitars at all, but Rock Band 2 on the wii will except them. and for the microphone you have to have a seperate wiimote sync'd up tho count as the controller for the the game to recognize the mic.

I got my daughter Wii Rockband-she is so mad and me to because we can't figure out how to let her play it-like play the guitar without the microphone-everytime she tries to play it, it says it doesn't...

Rock Band is a 4 player game, each player taking their own role. They can choose from Guitar, Bass, Drums or Microphone. If your daughter wants to play guitar and sing at the same time, she will need to play a multiplayer game and use 2 Mii profiles, one for guitar and one for singing.
A single player cannot play 2 instruments using the same Mii either. You must use separate profiles.

Microphone, play station 3

The controller needs to be on as well, since the mic doesn't have built-in controller capabilitites like the guitar and drums. So yeah... just turn on an actual controller while the mic is plugged in. :D If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate.... :D HAPPY NEW YEAR! and Please rate answer :D

I dont believe the guitar from Guitar Hero 3 is compatable with Rock Band or Rock Band 2, there is a compatibility chart on Rockband.com that will let you know for sure.
