Question about Sanyo DS27930 27" TV

2 TV's won't work in 5 months

What is wrong with our connectionWe have gone through 2 TV's in just 5 months.  Both of them will not turn on and make a buzzing noise when plugged in.  Both of them are not old but not new.  I am in the market to buy a new TV but now am afraid to plug a new TV in.  I wonder what keeps happening.  They were  plugged into a power board as was a stereo system and the stereo seems fine, so I don't think it was a power surge or was it?
The second TV was a Toshiba MD14FN1R

Hi,

Some problems similar to yours might be brought about by severe thunder storms or near lightning strikes which passes through the cable connection and/or the AC mains.

You may need to contact your cable provider and have them checked the feeder line and/or install an arrester.

Additionally, it may be to your added protection to unplug the units when not in use.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

    You are more than welcome and am glad to be of assistance. Appreciate the rating too.

    Most things can be fixed and this site can also provide the initial help and diagnosis. You simply sign in again like how you did it the first time and you post your problems again just like the first time.

    It would be to your advantage to include the brand and model numbers of the TV units. Additionally, any other info would be great such as blinking lights, clicking sounds, anything out of the ordinary.

    There should be a couple of responses and instructions on how to do initial diagnosis.

    Incidentally, most new TVs can do a reset once unplug for a couple of hours. Perhaps you can try doing the reset first.

Hi..I own a sony bravia 40 inch LED color tv model number kdl-40ex600...i've only had it for about 5 months now and it was working fine..up until I was watching a movie and the picture went completely out....


one of the power boards inside the tv has gone, which is why its blinking 5 times, which one it is i cant tell without using a multimeter on the tv. IF its only 5 months old you should ring up who you got it from and get them to fix it, as it will cost quite a bit to repair.

No Picture on 5 month old tv.


If the screen is just showing white screen, no text, no picture, then the problem cam be in the LCD controller board. I would get this fixed under warranty ASAP, nothing should have gone wrong yet. You may have a lemon, this is not a no name set.

One T.V. snowy on Sat., clear on local channels, others are fine?


if you recently got dishnetwork call the company that installed the system for a repair person, they HAVE to fix it. if you put it in yourself it sounds like the lnb is bad or the dishnetwork splitter is bad or not hooked up right. this kind of problem is a reminder that paying an extra $5 a month for service warranty is a good deal. if something is wrong with anything then, a phone call to dishnetwork will get new equipment sent to you or a service tech sent to fix it. i don't presently work for dish or direct or a cable co but i know that's how things work.
