2002 taurus, power windows all stopped working at once along with lighted window switches. Drivers window stuck down. Relay was hot! Also heater blows cool air, started doing this after I added radiator stop leak, heater actuator works fine. It warmed up to -4 degrees F today. Heat wave.

I had the exact same problem. After I had tested all the relays, fuses, window switches and window motor. I found the wiring harness between the drivers door and the door jam to have one broken wire! (Blue with black stripe) is the power source too the window lock rocker switch that controls all the windows and more! It was a easy repair with a in-line wire crimp.

Thank you for the info- I had the same problem. Sure enough, the big blue/blk stripe wire was broken in 2! Quick and simple fix (and free!). Thanks a ton.

My 2002 Ford Taurus SE driver side window is stuck down all the other windows are also not working now. Thought it might be a fuse so went and bought fuse relay but don't know where the location is to put...

If you can hear the motor run when you operate the switch, it isn't a fuse problem. It is a mechanical issue. Pull the door panel and get in there and figure out what you need to fix it.

I have a 2002 ford Taurus & the drivers side

There is no way to ever know what a vehicle
repair would cost & only a fool would quote
a price without first diagnosing the issues AFTER
they have things apart
The last shop let you down
Most window problems are a broken window regulator
Could be the switch was worn & was replaced, the relay
if there even is one & windows seldom have a relay, they just
have a circuit breaker for the motor.
The regulator was going & they failed to remove the door panel
to check it

Power windows not working

1 does the led's light up on the master window switch [drivers side] 2 when you rocker the drivers side down can you hear a audio click down under the steering wheel. the i/p fuse panel is down there where you rest your left foot.3 power is from battery saver relay to master ins. relay to one touch window relay. this is the one you should hear click. the back side of this fuse panel calls out the locations down there. the owners manule also helps some.4. if you take the interior door cover off remove the screw on extenstion on door lock and one screw under plastic button where you pull the door shut.arm rest support bracket. the rest is held in place with snap in plastic buttons [christmas trees like]. the door latch unlock should slide out of the opening when you slide it froward.there are 4 male/female electrical connections, 2 to the master door switch.one to the power/heated mirror, 1 to power locks. 5. don't unsnap them yet.with a test light you can check for battery voltage. on the master door switch the blue/black tracer wire should be hot[12 volt dc]. at all times. put one end in the backside and the other to a bolt or rivet on the door. the light should come on.next with one end on the blue/black tracer and one on white/black tracer rocker driver side up/down switch, the light should come on.there are only 13 wires on the master window switch 2black wires are ground, 2blue/black tracer[hot] 1 red/blue tracer should be [hot] when you unlock the window lock rocker switch.know the passanger and back seat switches should work. switch it to lock and they should only work from the driver side master switch.the 8 wires left are 2 for each window one up one down.try this with a friend it makes it easyer. good luck doug.

Drivers side window (power) quit working. all other windows work fine. what am I looking at. fude? regulator? motor? Is the regualtor and motor together in in this model? 2004 Ford Taurus SEL

Try this....
Open the door, turn the key to the ON position without starting the engine and everything that makes noise is off. Lean down placing your ears close to the bottom center of the door or at the speaker grill. Press the window switch UP and DOWN. Listen for the window motor. If heard the drive is damaged. If not heard, turn key off and locate and replace the relay with one of the other window relays. Check window again. If it works now, get a new relay. Sometimes, removing the motor and turning it by hand will get it working good as new. I have had to do that with Brand New motors! So try it.
If all has failed, with the door panel still off, check for voltage at the motor connector when pushing the window switch. No voltage means its the switch, especially if its a auto down or up switch.

Window fuse's and relay's may be up under drivers side dash or next to battery.
Drivers door window gets used the most so it could be the motor, window switch, relay or fuse.
Could also be a broken wire in the rubber boot going from the door to the body. You will have to eliminate each till you find the culprit.

Drivers electric window stuck in down position

actually you have thought of all but the prob. The track has jumped, making the motor not move the window. Sometimes you can gently slide the window up by hand and then the motor will catch the track and finish rolling the window up

96 taurus wagon interior lights and power windows

just a guess but Id look for a bad chasis ground. I say this cuz the interior light switch for the door is a normally- open - grounding. The test for this theory would be to run a jumper wire from the neg batt terminal to the body, or from the eng to the body/chasis.

Rear windows on my 2002 Taurus stopped working. Fuse OK. Problem is only with the rear windows. Started as an intermittent problem on one window and now neither rear window works.
