Let me guess - the wires of the connector are multicolored and separated into individual wires/plastic blocks, and the actual problem is finding out where to connect them?

HDMI cable connects to monitor but not to tower

HDMI cable has a specific design for specific purposes, if your tower is supposed to be used through a different port, use it, the other device is the one that will have to adapt to it. An "HDMI to other port" wire shouldn't exist, since it wouldn't bring the advantages of an HDMI wire.

How to hook up keyboard to my dell Inspiron 530

Keyboard come with two different connection options these days. The old PS2-style (circular with ~5 pins) port are less common on current machines these days. The Dell Inspiron 530 is one of them; you need a USB keyboard or a PS2 to USB adapter. This adapter, http://www.amazon.com/Adesso-Adapter-connects-connectors-ADP-PU21/dp/B00008ZPED , is an example of how you would connect your old keyboard to your new computer. There are USB ports on the front and back of the tower.

If you bought the computer new, it should have come with a USB keyboard.

I hope this helps.

Hello, I recently purchased all new computer components, including a Diablotek EPIC ATX Mid Tower case. I have the system complete and running. At first I plugged a USB device into the front left USB...

Hi Red,

I had a similar problem on a different case though. They might have similar causes.

The front usb port circuit board was connected to the MB with a ribbon cable. The prior owner had the cable attached backwards. It worked fine, until you plugged in a USB device, instant crash.

Can't say for certain this is what is happening with you, but it is a possibility.

I'm sure you already know, pin 1 is the striped cable. On the board pin 1 has an arrow.

Best regards

Mike

Where can i find front usb ports with the 2 headphone jacks

well it all depends on the tower and motherboard. Typically not located on the motherboard itself, it is usually plugged into a port on the motherboard port and extends to the top of the tower or front of it. "Front panel USB Ports"

How do you hook in the front usb plugs into a asus motherboard?

You need a separate cable, called a USB header. It plugs to the connector in the case and onto your motherboard. A lot harder to find that you would think too, my top ports still are not hooked up after several years.

Pluging in extra usb ports/Mic and headphone jacks from the tower

Answer me this. You're case is an Antec tower? The motherboard is the Asus P4P800 SE ? Is this correct?
If you have you're manual you can see what goes where on the board for front panel connector page. 2-31. (This diagram shows you how to connect the front mic & speaker).
To connect the Antec's front USB ports plug the case USB front connectors onto USB56 & USB78 shown on page. 2-30. Most case wires are already set within their USB connectors & the Antec's front USB connector should fit right on the mother board's pin's. If you need you're user manual, download from Asus by clicking on this link. http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=P4P800%20SE&SLanguage=en-us

Good Luck!

Delayed visual movement

OK, that's a start.

First make sure you are plugged directly into the PC, meaning that it's not plugged into a USB hub of any kind. Also, if you have one of those newer monitors with the USB ports on it - make sure it's not plugged into this either.

Second, depending on the PC, some manufacturers place USB 1.1 ports in the front of the cases, and USB 2.0 in the rear of it.

If you have if plugged into a front port, try a rear port. I know this can be a pain if you have the tower on the floor, and the cam on top of the monitor - usually the wires aren't very long. A 6 foot USB extension cable is relatively cheap.

If it has a delay with the setup utility, I've seen the wrong speed port cause this, due to the transfer speed of the port itself being too slow.

Havimg prob with the 2 usb ports located in front

Hi manky, Normally front USB ports have a pair of 4 wire cable with connectors marked red wire is vcc; white wire is -D; green wire is +D; and black wire is gnd. The motherboard would normally have two pairs of dual pin connectors that would be sitting side by side or in-line with uneven pins - 4 and 5 pins; then another 4 and 5 pins. Please refer to the attached simple diagram for your connection. For some reason I couldn't get hold of a manual from the Gigabyte site of your particular model GA-81KHXT. Nonetheless hopes this works for you. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.
