Lynksys wireless card for Desktp PC running Ubuntu Linux 7.04 Fiesty Fawn wont connect

Ok... i just got a new wireless card, its th Lynksys Wireless-G PCI Adapter Model No.WMP54G

I put it in and booted linux. The icon shows up in the system tray and when i right click the Enable Wireless is already enabled. i left click and all networks within range show up fine. When i click my connection it takes about half a min trying to connect then just stop and goeas back to the normal icon with the 2 computers and a triangle withe exclamation mark symbol in middle icon.

Why is this happening? Any help please?

I have tried toinstall ndisWrapper but keep getting errors every time i try to run te "Make/Make install" command.

Here is the output form e make install command :

I am running Ubuntu 9.04 and cannot get the Dynex Wireless-N Usb 2.0 adapter to work. i tried using the drivers that come with the cd. i clicked and dragged the .inf file into the Windows Network Drivers...

Standalone I don't think your Dynex Wireless G/Model DX-BUSB wireless card is supported by the Linux kernel or any third party drivers. You can try use ndiswarpper.

cd ~/folder that has your driver

sudo ndiswrapper -i [your inf file]

sudo ndiswrapper -l

now it should say:
driver installed, device present
sudo ndiswrapper -m
sudo modprobe ndiswrapper
that should start the driver, and in a few minutes, you'll have a working internet connection.

I had the same problem, but due to legal issues there won't be any linksys drivers available for linux any time soon. What i did was to sell mine and buy a different one with full compatibility with both windows and linux.

Yes/No. Dlink has no support for Linux. Ubuntu should install generic drivers but it may work or just epic fail.

Asus EE PC Issues with Connecting to a wireless network.

You may have a bad wireless card. Just having it see the network is only telling you that the card's recieve function is working. However I have had many bad wireless cards that will see a network and not be able to connect. The fact that you can get others to connect indicates your network/router is working fine. If this is a new pc, I would contact their tech support. If you have a usb wireless card, you could try that and see if the problem pc works with that, which would tell you definitively that
the other wireless is bad.
