Question about Cobra 18 WX ST 40-Channels Base CB Radio
I tried to plug in the 148 NW St to my 1994 Chevy Silverado. Black wire to ground, and red to power. went to turn on and nothing. Put key into ignition and put it to acc, and still nothing. any suggestions.??
Un plug the radio,and put an ohm meter across the radios power term,with it off.Should not get a reading.Turn on and should get full scale,If you gotr a reading when it was off,then the protection Didoe is bad and Blew a fuse,Clip the didoe and test again,if ok,Change didoe and fuse,Good to go

The first thing to do is to check if your power wire actually has power to it. Do this with a test light or a multimeter. Given that the wire is powered, check to make sure your ground is good. Modern cars have so much plastic in them that grounds may be hard to find. The next step is to check the rig's fuse. Make sure the microphone is plugged in, too. If none of this helps, your radio needs repair or replacement.
