Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook
At start up, the screen doesn't load windows. It gives two options. Before timing out. The first option 1 Will load windows, until next start up, then same prob when re-starting windows.
The 2nd says;
2nd. Microsoft XP Proffesional-windows could not start because of a computer disc hardware configuration problem
could not read from selected boot disc.
This D600 was refurbished! How can I fix so theese options don't come up & I can start windows the correct way.
It was a count down setting, r-click
on "my computer" set to 1sec.

Looks like you need to reinstall windows. get a windos setup disk and reinstall it. If it does not install cause windows setup cannot detect your c drive, then you may need to change the hd as well
first try reinstalling windows

Hello, doing a "last known good
configuration" Works most of the time. Here is how to do it:
1. Make sure your computer is powered down.
2. Turn your computer on and immediately
start pressing F8 on your keyboard repeatedly until you see a black screen with white writing that gives you a list of boot
3. Use the down arrow on your keyboard to
select the Last Known Good Configuration (Advanced) option.
4. Press Enter on your keyboard
and cross your fingers.
